I still havent got a sane answer from anyone. Gun regulation doesnt mean taking second amendnent away. Keep your guns. Take automated ones away or make them super restricted. You dont need such automated ones for self defense. There is no data that we are aware off that shows these automated ones (AR15 and likes) actually saved lives in self defense. This is where we need a study by CDC on gun violence. GOP and NRA has been blocking this study. WE NEED THAT STUDY NOW. People/Organizations who did not maintain the database properly should be held accountable. People who did not act on the data in the database should be held accountable. People who sell guns should be held accountable for not doing due diligence before handing over these type of guns to anyone. Police protocols in such situations should be revamped. Its not 1 but 5 officers inspite of being on the location when the shooter is in, did not chose to go in as they are waiting for backup as per protocol. Chuss NRA aka GOP and likes (aka jai_ycp)will not agree for a) stricter gun laws on who can get guns after these checks b) CDC study on gun violence as this will give a data points for gun regulation c) increase age limit to 20 (NRA said no for this) d) Ban automatic and semi automatic guns (those 2000 types that Rubio mentioned). They will not agree to all these because this means lesser gun sales. No matter what you do inside the school like a) arming teachers b) having armed guards c) Improve school architecture with less entrances and stronger walls d) metal detectors, this will not stop that crazy nut job to act like this in school, near school premises or somewhere in the community. My question was specific to military personnel. But to reiterate my position, I am for banning semi automatic and automatic weapons. But realistic enough to understand that we may not see it soon. Having said that, Trump is proposing or he said he is for increasing the minimum age to 21, increased mental checks etc. Not the worst but something to start with. So, to protect the children, I am for armed guards at each school.
