Thanks to those all responded via mails and PMs. I will keep this thread saved for mail purposes and also will open another thread once I talk to the kid and make a plan to help. For now here are the thoughts (can be improved upon inputs) 1) Kid's first yera Engg fees is paid. I am working with an ORG to take care of remaining three years and even if this does not work have people who are willing to chip in. This was top priority when I first learned about the case. 2) helping for her father's medicines was optional and secondary that time. People chipped in and with help from my co-bro (works with Apollo as GM) gave him medi card so that he can buy medicines. Working part time (rather not getting enough invites to do pourohityam due to illness etc.,). Min of 10K per month or more for medicines. 3) Mother is sick since years (paralyzed from waist to bottom) and running on medicines. 4) Now kid diagnosed with Spinal Tumor (probably hereditary??). I usually DONT' like giving cash in hand. Instead would like to get the kid 1) medical card for certain amount (based on contributions) 2) buy any form of groceries etc., (if there are more contributions).. currently the family shifted to Medchal in Hyd, where she joined in CMR technical campus. Note: I have copies of her certificates, joining letter in engg college and few other pics. Also did inquired about her through two/three sources and case is genuine. I talked to her aunt while back. last time instead of giving the cash in hand, I made sure my bro visited them and handed over a medical card (acts like debit card allowing to purchase medicines for about 40K plus INR) with first installment fees. I will check about need of medicines n any such other things (rather than daily groceries etc.,) and if there is a chance to help will open a thread in DB. thanks for the offer. for now she said treatment expenses etc will be taken care by hospital guys (who are looking after her dad for reduced cost). since there is no standard income now for the family (her dad used to do pourohityam and now due to throat cancer could not continue like earlier) and i am checking with few others if can do something. will get more details and let people know... so positive that girl is and speaking to her for few mins energizes and thats how charming she is. few months back saw a news item in eenadu about a girl whose mother is completely paralyzed, father is fighting with cancer. She is the only child and from the age of 10 or so she is taking care of her mother and taking her dad to hospital, requesting for funds and all sorts of stress, agony and what not. Despite all that she cleared inter with about 985 marks. With help from relatives/friends we got about 40K INR for her dad's treatment and paid off her fees for first year of engg. Now I learn couple days back the kid is diagnosed with Spinal Tumor and started treatment just before first sem exams. Monna desam vellinappudu kalavaleka poya kaani matlaada and she sounded so happy thanking all the people who helped her. so disturbing and depressed..
