My kids understand that he is folklore. Still they love Santa/St Nicholas/Father Christmas and the experience of buying the Christmas tree, decorating it, keeping it watered. My son, who is four, recites "on the road to Bethleham" almost twice a day - thanks to his school. Christmas this year has been great for the kids. Their first authentic Christmas experience. | ||

My daughter came to know when she turned 8... she did little bit of ‘thinking’ and figured it out all by herself. But until then, we just let her enjoy the ‘santa illusion’ by placing cookies and milk at the fire place every xmas. The One and Only Veturi | ||

My daughter came to know from her friends and she told us that Santa is not real and she knows we are getting her presents...till about the age of five I think she thought Santa was giving her presents...it was just fun to make a wish list and place it under the tree, , try to behave nice to be on the Santa's 'Nice List' and finally see all the gifts appear magically on Christmas day...Age 6 antunnaaru kaabatti kaavalante cheppeyyandi...cheppakapoina they will know in a year or two.. | ||

you are not getting my point. its like halloween. which religion has halloween but people participate in it. same with santa and christmas tree lighting. to simplify, you don't need to unbelive santa because you are not a christian. I made it very clear to my kids that Santa is a Myth and don't believe. they know it since they are about 4 or so. That does not mean I don't buy them anything.
