KN150 achieved what it set out to do. Fans ki meppinchadam. Whatever Chiru has been known for - he showed all those things in this movie. Fans ki full meals guaranteed. The movie delivers what people wanted to see in a Chiru movie. This movie was needed. Much needed. It was the perfect comeback vehicle for Chiru - It brought the previous generation fans to the theaters. At the same time, it kind of introduced Chiru to the newer generation. Of course, the content could have been better. Treatment could have been better. But as a complete package, KN150 hit the bull's eye, be it the grace in Chiru's dances, the amazing comic timing he still possesses and the natural emotions he has in his kitty. Khaidi No 150 is the best movie for Chiru and his fans under the circumstances. I applaud Chiru for accepting this movie. It may be a remake but it is the perfect story for a comeback. Having said that, back in the days of yore, when Chiru was known for his dances, the competition was Balayya, Nagayya, Venkayya - none of whom were particularly known for breaking a leg. However, today we have Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, NTR and a couple of others who can dance comfortably even though they still can't beat Chiru's grace. Steps wise, Chiru can't compete with them. He is 60+ and it showed in the KN150 dances. He is movements are slower. He is not doing crazy steps. He is still incredibly agile given his age. But this is the inflection point for him. He has delivered. Now he needs to pivot. Going forward, if he still depends on dances, mass fights etc - he will lose the grip he has - because let us face it. You and I (the previous generation oldies) are not going to dictate box office going forward. As a comeback movie, KN150 is the best. Now slowly transform into a more contemporary actor. Doesn't mean CHiru should act in ART movies. It will still be a pakka mass masala commercial entertainer but in a new and more contemporary framework. Look forward to the next movie.  |
