Ranveer, Alia and the other guy who acted as MC Sher... terrific performance. Music is another asset. Apart from actors performances and music.... it is quite boring in many scenes/parts Final ki feel good factor kosam happy ending... but stretched it all the way till end credits Personally, I liked Secret Supersrar much better than this one. Both have very similar plot lines... fantastic music as well ! Don't say you don't have enough time. Movie was a good watch. Almost after an year Im watching a bollywood movie and I enjoyed it. Language is clean. Not over dramatic. Good performances by everybody. Good music. Gully boy - Zoya Akhtar earned herself a new fan in my son ... The setting, the camerawork , lighting, the color palette , BGM and soundtrack were all excellent.. Performances - Ranveer was brilliant - with controlled acting and convincing rapping But what an ensemble cast - great acting by everyone - Alia, Vijay Raaz , Vijay Verma, Siddhant Chaturvedi ( he was awesome- Kudos to Ranveer for not trying to undercut him ) , Kalki was underutilized for the powerhouse she is... And now the soul of the movie - Javed Akhtar’s lyrics and Vijay Maurya’s dialogs - stellar ... They did a decent job of other subtitling the lyrics as well! Was it perfect ? No, but when my son who usually has little patience for long desi movies says he could have continued watching after 2.30 hours - that is saying something I enjoyed the little digs Zoya took at stereotypes as well Saw the thread on remake - It’s going to be a really tall order to remake - will depend on the writing and the rap sensibility of the telugu audience !
