fielding wise may SA were not too behind aussies, but SA batting was not upto mark that season. Klusener kurrod almost all matches half century batting at number 8 or below and winning the matches.

miandad had odd open stands....very comfortable to sweep and he is good at sweeping......always steals those runs......plus one mistake from bowler......punish at the hardest way......
steve waugh did in some matches.....but never covered the tailenders....adithey aadu.....lekapothey dobbu attitude......even with his players.....i fight....are you ready?

Miandad kurrod rocks with his do or die attitude to win a match..which includes cheating..i am a great fan of his single stealing ability and implement it even today..
there is no better judge of a single..than Miandad or Michael Bevan..they are my idols for running between wickets..and of course..guruji Sunny for all batting.. |

no 11 ishanth comes in as night watchman in tests..that is if we are 2 down and few overs left in the day ...he effing shields sachin ramesh tendulkar
so obviously dhoni knows that this guy can bat to NOT GET OUT
same he trusted with the kumars
dhoni belongs to the steve waugh school of thought...waugh snr played so many rear guard innings but never shielded a tailender even if it was mister no 11 glenn mcgrath
btw, his game plan was very similar to a chase against pak few yrs ago...left with 15 odd to get and last man for company in the last over...he tried hitting a six and holed out to extra cover, India lost
you may call this win a luck...but the brave define their own luck..particularly those who are brave enough to trust their own abilities

avvanni jaanthaa nahi....Sachin should open the innings, stay till the end and remain not out and should win the match....what he did throughout 1996 and 2003 WCs doesn't matter....In 2007 WC, the way he faced the lethal attack of Australia in quarter final and kept the wicket till 20+ overs and scored those crucial 50+ runs, the 90+ score against Pakistan in Semi-finals doesn't matter at all...
another classic example was the 170+ runs he scored against AUS in Hyderabad is not enough...he should stayed till end and score the winning runs....
