RSS supremo Mohanrao Bhagwat on Friday termed Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's expression of regret for his 'Hindu terror' remark as an attempt to appease a particular section of voters for the next elections. Appearing in no mood to forgive Shinde for his terror remark and subsequent regret, Bhagwat while answering a query from a public during a question-answer session, said, "His (Shinde's) remarks as well as regret are nonsense (bakwas)". He said the Sangh Parivar never believed in violence and if the ministry of Home Affairs has any prima facie proof of they being remotely connected to any form of violence, then instead of voicing the same in public, the minister should take appropriate legal action on it. To another question on his view that rapes occur in India and not in Bharat, Bhagwat reiterated that his statement on the subject was "misquoted". Bhagwat on a four-day visit to Odisha and was speaking at a public meeting here after attending a day-long programme of the RSS, including meeting intellectuals of the city. | ||

Former president of the Bhartiya Janata Party Venkaiah Naidu expressed sadness after meeting several injured in the Hyderabad bomb blasts and visiting the blast sites on Saturday. Venkaiah Naidu told rediff.com that he regretted the lack of political leadership to take preventive action and nab the perpetrators of the âheinous crime carried out by Pakistan-based terror outfitsâ. "The Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shide told the media that the home ministry had issued an alert in Hyderabad. Maybe the state police does not want to take the blame as any action against the minority community would not help the Congress," said the former BJP chief. The UPA government is known for its inaction. There is a lack of will to deal with such elements. Instead comparing to Pakistan, why don't we compare to US. After 9/11 there was not a single attack on US soil, why? because they said never again and worked towards it from political figures to enforcement agencies. Pakistan is a failed state, to even compare it with India is shame on anyone's part. As long as our politicians don't have the will power these things keep happening. We need huge upgrade and coordination among our security forces. These things will keep happening as long as we are worried about hurting few minorities feelings.
