I think, I see the difference in perspective. I think we differ whether there is any thing to be concerned about religious polarization. You may be thinking there is no concern, and I may be thinking there is something to be concerned about. Let me put it this way, I do not understand the point he made, because it is said by Naseer. To me the discussion is not about Naseer, but about the point he is making. If you dont feel that there is anything to be concerned about, then you wouldnt understand the point. out of all the posts in this thread, this is a matter that is more close to what we should be paying attention to. Why should someone's statements cause any kind of reaction other than being more of a discussion point. Whats the need to be get involved or get indulged emotionally about a point made by someone. We see the reactions here in this thread, and we see the reactions of Naseer - what difference do you see. if he is over-reacting, what is happening in this thread? If his statements are adding to the polarization, isnt this tread and the posts here doing the same. Is it not justifying my point that polarization is on the rise, that someone saying words, whether with malice or out of paranoia are causing people to get enraged? I can empathize a little bit with Naseeer's position, although I am unaware of his political leanings. Over all world has become a bit polarized around religion and this is not specific to just India, or USA. There are many reasons for this to happen, and overall islamic religion's attittudes towards other religions, political and social structures that go against their religion may be the most compelling. When countries with Islamic religion at helm gained became more richer,they started getting more bolder. The rest of the world is trying to grapple with this, and becoming more polarized. I am a Hindu by birth and take pride of the depth of philosophies in it, my wife is christian, my kids right now dont know what they are. It is definitely concerning to be part of such an uncertainty - especially the level of polarization we are seeing today. From this perspective I do understand the point of Naseer. BJP is a secular party in my view, but unrelated to the party there are supporters of this party who are more aligned to their religion, than BJP itself. This may be concerning some, but most are overreacting to this aspect of BJP supporters. between, i am no way saying Naseer is correct or wrong.
