no restriction as such, e.g.: you run an industry with power consumption of 30mw.. you may setup 100mw solar if it makes economic sense over grid power.. Policy enables you to benefit from exemptions and also generation settlement (renewable power generation cycle vs your 24/7 consumption pattern) like wise net metering for rooftop.. you get paid for excess energy fed into grid State policies are most generic across all states.. nothing phenomenal different about it Off late they are not granting any approvals for 3rd party solar/wind projects as they are losing high tariff paying consumers. telangana is hotspot for such project due to large commercial facilities in Hyd.. no approval granted since 2yrs | ||

Seci and ntpc are nodal investment/development partners.. their primary role is to organise bids, buy power from park and sale to states.. Seci/ntpc Ppas are aaa rated, thats when you see great participation from pvt players in park bids.. State govt and SECI form JV and do all pre-developement activities state provides huge land mass, water pipeline, transmission line and trunck infra seci advices on tie-up of multi-lat funding for this developement (cost around 1cr per mw) AP was the most aggresive state followed by Rajasthan and Guj in conceptualizing and executing large solar parks. Few projects are done by NTPC and APTransco JV (anantapur mega park) and some like Kurnool, Anatapur-2 and Kadapa parks are bid out to Private players. In 2014, AP solar park bid broke the world record by achieving lowest solar tariff in the world 4.40/kwh at that time. It got eye of many states which jumped into wagon later. 2. Who buys power? Under the arrangement AP brought all the power generated from these parks on back to back PPAs 3. Who won the bids to build solar plants in the parks under PPA arrangement? Softbank Bharathi (SB) Energy, Sprng energy (Actis funds), Greenko (acquired defunct SunEdison project) and many others have partial capacities in the parks. This is a JV between AP Genco and SECI. this APSPCL sanctioned 4000 MW capacity solar projects in kurnool, kadapa and anantapur. 23000 Acres required for this purpose alone in Andhra Pradesh. of that, 12000 acres was aquired by AP govt. imagine aquiring 12000 acres when you face back lash. we seen this in bandar area, vijayawada. but CBN achieved it by sending local MLAs repeatedly to those villages for convincing. also cost CBN has to pay for aquisition. Then contracts were auctioned as a guarantee that power will be purchased at certain price for next 10 years while investing 1000 cr of state own money in these 7000 cr project. originally sun edison got contract for 500 MW but they bankrupted here in USA. so again CBN has to move officials to go behind sun edison and transfer that some one else. not only that finding some new bidder. then this lond putakulla kullayappa owned greenco came into picture. he got it. he invested around 2000 Cr and completed project while APSPCL coordinating overseeing all the things and pushing other govts. to provide necessary infra. This is all happened in 1.5 year with greenco because CBN reviewing and pushing officials to complete it. indule CBN ki credit ivvataniki emi noppo verevallaki artham kaakapoina manaku telusule. | ||
