Brett Michael Kavanaugh ; born February 12, 1965) is an American attorney and jurist who serves as a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Kavanaugh graduated from Yale College ••• laude, with a degree in American history, where he was a member of the fraternity Delta Kappa Epsilon. After graduating from Yale Law School, Kavanaugh began his career as a law clerk and then a postgraduate fellow working under Judge Ken Starr. After Starr left the D.C. Circuit to take the position as head of the Office of Independent Counsel, Kavanaugh followed him to the OIC and assisted Starr with his various investigations concerning President Bill Clinton. Kavanaugh played a lead role in drafting the Starr Report, which urged the impeachment of President Bill Clinton. After the 2000 U.S. presidential election (in which Kavanaugh worked for the George W. Bush campaign in the Florida recount), Kavanaugh joined the administration as White House Staff Secretary and was a central figure in its efforts to identify and confirm judicial nominees.[2]
Kavanaugh was first nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit by President Bush in 2003. His confirmation hearings were contentious; they stalled for three years over charges of partisanship. Kavanaugh was ultimately confirmed to the D.C. Circuit in May 2006 after a series of negotiations between Democratic and Republican U.S. Senators.[3][4][5] An analysis covering the period 2003–2018 found that Kavanaugh had the most or second-most conservative voting record on the D.C. Court in every policy area.[6]
To fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy, President Donald Trump nominated Kavanaugh on July 9, 2018, to serve as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. During the confirmation process, Christine Blasey Ford came forward and, through interviews to the press and statements by her attorney, alleged that in the early 1980s Kavanaugh had attempted to rape her.[7][8][9] Kavanaugh "categorically and unequivocally" denied that the event occurred.[10][11] On September 23, Deborah Ramirez alleged sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh;[12] Kavanaugh denied this allegation as well.[13] On September 26, Julie Swetnick alleged that Mark Judge and Kavanaugh organized and participated in gang rape; Kavanaugh denied the allegations.[14] In September 27, 2018, he stated that the accusations were a "political hit" by left-wing activists and Democrats, saying he faced retaliation by the "Clinton machine" for his work on the Starr Report against Bill Clinton.
Polling has shown that Kavanaugh has the lowest approval rating of any Supreme Court nominee in the modern era with the exception of Harriet Miers.

-an anonymous claim of rape fwded by Harris'office
-two intvus & a written statement from a man "who believes he, not" Kav, assaulted Ford in 1982

On the positive note, saw some good review of tomorrow's attorney from a friend in texas. Apparently, she is pretty good and is not a partisan hack. She is actually considered as victims advocate .. (CNN)Julie Swetnick, who went public on Wednesday with her accusations against Brett Kavanaugh, was represented in a sexual harassment complaint by the firm of the current lawyer for Christine Blasey Ford.
Ford is the first woman to go public with accusations against Kavanaugh and is represented by Debra Katz.
Two sources told CNN that Swetnick filed a sexual harassment complaint against a former employer a decade ago and was represented in the matter by a lawyer from Katz's firm.
Swetnick is currently represented by attorney Michael Avenatti, who rose to prominence earlier this year for representing Stormy Daniels.
A source familiar with the matter confirmed that a lawyer at Katz's firm did represent Swetnick, but that it was not Katz herself. The source said Katz never represented Swetnick and that the firm did not refer Swetnick to Avenatti for representation.
Appearing on CNN, Avenatti said while he was vetting Swetnick, he learned of the New York Life case, saying "(Katz is) one of the leading lawyers in Washington, DC, on sexual harassment and other types of claims, so it's not surprising that she used her."
Avenatti added there was "no coordination whatsoever" between Katz and his client on Swetnick's accusation against Kavanaugh.
Avenatti released a declaration on Wednesday that Swetnick submitted to the Senate Judiciary Committee. In the declaration, Swetnick accused Kavanaugh of regularly engaging in "excessive drinking and inappropriate contact of a sexual nature with women during the early 1980s." She said Kavanaugh was also present at a high school party around 1982 where she was the victim of a "gang" rape. She did not identify Kavanaugh as one of her attackers.
Court records show Swetnik was involved in other legal matters.
Swetnick was accused of domestic violence in Dade County, Florida, in 2001, according to online records. A man named Richard Vinneccy filed a complaint against her in civil court, according to a docket. The case was dismissed two weeks later.
Vinneccy told Politico the dispute happened after the two broke off a romantic relationship and he got married.
"Right after I broke up with her, she was threatening my family, threatening my wife and threatening to do harm to my baby at that time," Vinneccy told Politico.
Avenatti said Swetnick's ex-boyfriend "has no credibility."
Maryland court records also list a Julie Swetnick as the complainant on 1993 criminal cases filed against two people for harassing phone calls. The cases were dismissed.
Kavanaugh has denied Swetnick's allegations along with others, including the accusation from Ford of sexual assault some 30 years ago. Ford and Kavanaugh are both set to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

I write regarding your request that I postpone the hearing scheduled for Thursday, September 27, during which we will hear Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's testimony regarding her allegations of Judge Brett Kavanaugh's conduct in high school. I respectfully decline your request. I am not going to silence Dr. Ford after I promised and assured her that I would provide her a safe, comfortable. and dignified opportunity to testify.
Both Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh have, over the last week, requested the opportunity to testify to Congress regarding Dr. Ford's allegations. After protracted negotiations with Dr. Ford's attorneys, during which we postponed the hearing we had originally scheduled, Dr. Ford's attorneys agreed to a hearing this Thursday. There is no reason to delay the hearing any further.
Besides being unfair to Dr. Ford, whose attorneys asked for a public hearing one week ago. delaying the hearing further would be unfair to Judge Kavanaugh and his family. He has asked the Committee repeatedly for the chance to testify as soon as possible. He has categorically denied the allegations that have been made public. He did this in a transcribed interview with several Senate investigators, under penalty of up to five years' imprisonment for lying. We can no longer stand in the way of him presenting his testimony before the Committee.
It is unforgivable that Dr. Ford and her family have been subjected to threats and intimidation. But Judge Kavanaugh and his family, including his two young daughters, have also faced threats and intimidation. We must take his family's safety. and the trauma this is causing to his young daughters, into account no less than we must account for the threats and intimidation suffered by Dr. Ford and her family.
You suggest that Dr. Ford's testimony should be further delayed because of allegations made in the New Yorker by Deborah Ramirez. I am unclear why Ms. Ramirez's claims should have any bearing on Dr. Ford's testimony. In fact, the obvious connection between the two claims is that Senate Democrats hid both allegations of misconduct from the Committee and the public. Indeed.
it was reportedly Senate Democratic staff who conveyed the allegations to the media rather than alert Republican staff to conduct a bipartisan investigation.
Finally, you ask that the FBI investigate Ms. Ramirez's claims. As you know, Judge Kavanaugh has gone through six FBI background investigations over the past 25 years. The FBI's investigations covered his time at Yale and uncovered nothing remotely similar to the misconduct alleged by Ms. Ramirez. Additionally, as the New Yorker story itself states, the publication could "not confirm[] with other eyewitnesses that Kavanaugh was present at the party." And the New York Times spoke to several dozen people to corroborate Ms. Ramirez's allegations but "could find no one with firsthand knowledge." Indeed, the Times reports that Ms. Ramirez herself said she could not be sure Judge Kavanaugh did what she alleged in the New Yorker article. It's not clear how the FBI could further illuminate what transpired at a dormitory party 35 years ago. Even the liberal New York Times did not find these allegations "fit to print."
As of now, the only allegations of which the Committee is aware with respect to Ms. Ramirez are the allegations described in the New Yorker. As you know, false statements made to the press are not subject to criminal penalty, but false statements to Congress are. If Ms. Ramirez submits testimony and evidence to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which Committee investigators have requested, we can decide how to proceed. But, at this time, Democratic staff has not shared any such evidence it has with Republican staff. And, because Ms. Ramirez's allegations are unrelated to Dr. Ford's, there is no reason at all to delay the hearing on Thursday in light of these new al legations.

This got ugly faster. Now Avenatti came with sworn statement and a name!!
One of the statements in sworn statement is

Bushu:victims don't come out for various reasons. you can't use that as an excuse. something triggers in them and they come out. Nijanga aindha ledha annadhi needs an investigation. right now even circumstantial evidence is against her. The Judge is putting himself in tricky situatinos though - virgin etc was a stupid thing to say.

None of the charges are substantiated by evidence of any kind except she told this to someone. Suddenly husband, neighbour, some friend all of them come up. None of her original 4 who she said were witness or knew about the incident said they remember anything about this and if it really occurred. She is a clear nut case - but deserves a hearing. By the way for somebody who claims has phobia flying - she did graduate work or something in Hawaii which is in middle of the ocean. If she did not fly did she swim all the way? She has relatives all over the east coast and she kept visiting them, how did she get there? drive all the way from CA each time?
