But now, we cant play incoming ball - 11 dismissals in 2nd test are LBWs+Clean bowled. So England is attacking the stumps and we are unable to negotiate the inswingers more than how we are able to play outswingers. | ||

Most cross bat were when pitched on leg and middle - batsman trying to play to midwicket. But ball swings out too much causing issues. Off and outside off ki manollu straight bat ye aadaaaru. too many things that went wrong at Lords.. selecting two spinners..when 1 day was already lost due to rain and forecast was cloudy..for at least 2 of the 4 remaining days is straight forward mettapalem telivithetalu by team management (Rahane said it is Kohli and Shastri who decided that) once taken the decision..not bowling enough the "attacking option", meaning 6 out of 70 overs is even bad.. Also...As Gavaskar commented...Our preparation for this series and even the SA series was shit. Only Pujara played some counties and the rest of the Team didn't even play a few competitive games... They also had the audacity to take a break for training before the Test! Learning frm SA and past experiences, what was stopping our Team to fly in atleast a couple of weeks early and try to play as many practice matches as possible? Worst part is knowing our Batsmen like Vijay/Rahul/Pujara/Rahaney have the technique and class.....but still are failing due to their temperament at present. | ||

England Swinging Conditions are a nightmare to survive...let alone score quick runs... Kohli never emphasized on runrate in Overseas conditions....Pujara has all the time to bat at 10 strike rate and keep a wicket intact at one end... No point blaming Kohli when his batsmen are failing collectively....Plain and Simple. Test Matches gives every batsman all the time in the world to adjust, adapt or refine his technique. Why wud there be pressure of they perform in the opportunities given? At present, Our batsmen aren't good enough in Overseas conditions bar Kohli. Better give them an assured place this series and take a final call after which it is better to groom technically sound youngsters. Though not young anymore....Always thought Rayudu wud make a good Test batsman for Overseas. He always had a strong technique. But politics still keep him out of T20 squad....forget Tests. | ||

None of these have a high success in Ranji circuit, AFAIK. T20 IPL lo performance choosi, England lo test match antay... Current team is good... just that they are unable to find their rhythm... Vijay, Pujara, Rahane and Rahul all are top material for tests in any conditions. They are not flat track bullies in subcontinent. They have technique and class. BCCI should fly in Rahul Dravid or VVS Laxman to be with the team for the next 3 tests and help the batsmen sort it out. | ||

we came late to england If we have 5 test matches on mind.....ofcourse...our schedule is pretty full as IPL occupies a window.... then.... you play 5 tests in six weeks with no tour matches in between or prior.... 15 days rest after ODI/T20's and one tour match reduced from 4 days to 3 days they said.... too harsh to pile on the team but.....scheduling also didnt work out....and beleive me....3 months of sun, almoust drought situation and hose pipe bans and we start playing cricket it is cloudy and swinging conditions..... looking back....what a chance that was to win the first test....we were close and england were not that dominating....but then.....it turned.... The emphasis has been to not worry about things that you can't control like weather, pitches, opponent bowlers but concentrate on skills and be prepared for all conditions. Which is what, Vijay is saying too. My beef with this team management is only with lack of planning for practice matches. Match time cannot be simulated in net practice. Rahaney....may look composed....and virat may seem aggresive.....but the ability levels and match winning capabilites are much wider..... Vengsarkar.....was more composed and calm......but as a captain...swarry.....Ganguly acted as he was pissed off with sun and moon too....but he deilvered....
