On an interesting note, once the yield curve is inverted S&P average return is around 21% before recession starts. 18-19 month lag from when the yield curve is inverted to start of recession I could introduce myself properly, but it's not really necessary. Earlier this year had a good conversation with an economist that works on economic cycles...he pointed to the yield curve flattening and corporate debt peaking. Have been tracking these two metrics for a few months. Thank you. Quick glance lo... 1. "Stocks only" option has been giving better returns over diversification. (No brainer. But you have to diversify within stocks. Do not put everything in one basket). 2. S&P 500 may reach 3000 but it will drop antunnadu. Due to lower expectations and margins in the second half of 2018. Current - 2699. It has to reach 3000 in next 3 days... I think they missed this call. Earnings and expectations have been stronger at the end of Q1. I expect the same for Q2. 3. US investments have been outperforming, so, be cautious antunnadu. I think they will continue the upward trend for the next 2 years (albeit at a lower rate of change). Purely a hunch. One of the reasons being this recovery is different from earlier recoveries. Longer recession followed by longer recovery period. 4. International stocks will outperform US stocks/equities.... based on a graph with 2 data points. You need at least 3 data points to predict a trend. | ||
