Is this all that is required for a movie to be a big hit. There is not one moment that i felt that i was seeing or hearing something that has not been done or written before. Right down to the opening intro shot of Mahesh run, the movie abounds in cliches. Mahesh's characterisation is a sleepathon, every movement and action reeks of a director in awe of his looks and his stardom rather than the character. Inchoate political ideologies like local governance are thrown at the audience - i thought Panchayati Raj was on that lines already. Some silly ideas around traffic fines, and other beaten to death themes around contractors, education etc. Boring songs and repetitive BGM. In fact, after one year - if i was shown a scene and asked to say whether it was from Srimanthudu or BAN, i would have a tough time to do so. And the length, the lenght - three frigging hours... Writing more than this is a waste of my time - i will give this 3/10. |
