don't need to give up drinking. Drinking is not that bad unless you are binge.

Follow the diet that Nihil suggested and workout heavily.. you will be good.

Based on Rasp's previous interactions, he prefers malk whiskeys, which are not too bad for a diabetes, unless they are artificially flavored... drinking ocassionally and moderatly should not be a problem... snacking while drinking is a bad thing.. ... but i think if he can control, he can drink ocassionally ...

Im no doctor so :-) follow doctors advice .. :d

cool... i think your last test is not valid... you technically did not fast...but anywho, its wise to take action now. one month could make a lot of difference. lose weight and change diets. with diabetes.

I can help with diet options vunkl.. even though most of it is self learning, you can check if it works for you.

i was a Research assistant, and worked another night job. used to work around 70hrs a work other than usual course work. probably sleeping around 4hrs a day for over an 18 months... next to zero physical activity... very unhealth life style..

i havent been on mediction after that first year... right now the numbers are around 125/75 .. back then they used to be around 160/110

I tried to go on a strict carb control with zero rice but did not work out. Very soon we will lose interest and get tired of all the calorie/carb counting. The best option is to do the easy stuff first.

1) Stop drinking all types of sugary drinks
2) Excercise is a must
3) Reduce meal portions.

You will see a quick reduction in A1C.

stop mandu, oild based mulla, lean meat without much oil is fine
reduce salt, rice, roti, sugar intake intake
eat more salads
avoid sweet fruits like grapes, etc
Drink decent amount of water, whole grains in moderation, lean protein, veggies

rest all came out good.. i was on a beta blocker for an hear for high blood pressure when I was 26, so was plenty sure, i would be in the high range... was surprised that the rest came out in normal range...

i used to drink daily.. although it always would be less than 3 pegs... i havent been drinking much lately... last time i had a drink was 4 months back, when some friends visited... you dont have to stop... but it would be wise to limit to as less as possible

No issues. Just 3 years ayindi primary care physician ni choosi. Just general checkup.
After 4 months of no alcohol- I have been drinking a lot for the past 7 months along with eating out all the time (mostly junk food, not home cooked). So I put on a lot of weight recently.

I was drinking until 12:30 AM. Blood test was at 8:20 AM

@@ Rasputin - Are you noticing any changes in your body ....like leg pains, more urination or more hunger etc etc...if you don't notice these changes just consider that as number....

Avg height of Indians is 5ft8inch, Bachan is 6ft2inch, it doesn't mean Bachan have some problem (As per one Dr)...All these numbers are for alarming or for Pharama companies business...

Yesterday I found my Glucose levels are 113, but I have above mentioned problems too :-( :-(, for that reason I went for checkup...Now I am seriously considering our fellow members suggestions (Exercises, Diet and gymnema sylvestre)

avoid white rice , brown rice better with less amount.
take more fruits .
after dinner and bed time , at least 2 hr difference.
avoid beer , better to take red wine

Nothing...calory restriction ...ante food quantity baga tagginchali and lose weight rapidly... if you have are obese,overweight..this works wonders to cure your type 2 diabetes for at least 5 yrs.

You have to eat at around 1000 cal/day ...in 3-5 meals ( most of it should be fats and proteins (butter,nuts,oils,millets,grams,eggs,meat) ..carbs should be minimal

Ila oka 3 months chesthe if you can lose your weight...insulin resistance will be gone..so diabetes also gone

Very difficult to follow if you are a foodie or fatty boom boom..but works wonders

You are diabetic. Accept it.
If you want to to avoid medication for next 5 yrs ..rapid weight loss with caloric restriction (1000 cal/day) is the only way..lot of research is going... Google Dr. Taylor and Sarah Marshal from Newcastle Univ on "caloric restriction for treatment of newly diagnosed Type II diabetes"

I have done it with my mom and she has noticed good difference...she has lost 10 kilos in 2 months

I have been avoiding Glucose tests for a while now, fearing the worst. Long long time ago (probably 3 years ago) it was 97 or 99. Ivaala 139 ani vachindi. Nenu licked aa? Mandu maneyyaala? Desserts maaneyyaala? Rice maneyyaala?
