you are using one set of people's actions to justify your feelings about another set. You are saying since someone shared a video having fun, there is no right for others who went through trauma to share their experience. its like saying since some men drink, teetotalers cannot express their some other grief. Think of the percentage of people who share videos of something that they are doing for fun - 1% of women folk in the world, or atleast in the online world? even if its 10%, you think 90% of the folk are doing the same? Its not for you or me to buy whether someone expresses sexual abuse or not. if it happens, it happens. it doesnt need anyone else buy in.
Like I said, this is a discussion thats a waste of time. Men hate women, women hate Men, Men are worse beings, Women are worse beings - talking about this is waste of time to me. If we stay enough time in social media, we will find people who oppose every single idea that is accepted by someone else. Engaging in these discussions, is merely to satisfy our egos. you dont have to justify why your empathy died to anyone. you could simply say, one day i saw an ugly women, and my empathy died, there is nothing anyone else could do about it. it is your feeling, your entitled to it. | ||

Perhaps I should have given more examples... If The reason behind #meToo campaign is to make fellow women, not to feel ashamed of reporting abuse, I find it ridiculous. Especially in the time where women are publicly talking about #myChoice, having TBs or •••• collection, reading 50 shades of Gray, expecting their BF to be someone like him etc etc. I mean.. See that video shared in this thread itself... When a group of women are hugging each other and are holding some phallus object's ends with their mouths, I find it ridiculously stupid if someone says that people don't report about sexual abuse due to shame and all. If they say that they haven't reported a sexual abuse because they were feeling guilty or ashamed... I won't buy it. So far so good. No problem yet! But.... This kind of campaigns are being used as yet another excuse for male bashing! AS USUAL!!! For example... A lady has posted some stuff like... Even if I roam nude, nobody has the right to rape me. And was blaming the traditionalists who recommended conservative dressing would reduce the risk of rape, as if those conservatives are encouraging the rapists with claps and whistles, and was comparing them with sexual predators. I mean come on... Isn't there a difference between 1. accepting/acknowledging a fact and 2. Supporting an incident? It is like.. Killing the carpenter who made the board... "beware of thieves". I just wonder... If those girls face some kind of objection/resistance from their mothers about their erotic clothing, would they assume that their mother is a sexual predator, molesting their neighbours kids? Or... Would they think that their mom is just expressing some concern about their safety? No wonder I have a hardtime in keeping my empathy after going this kind of rants by these bimbos! And guess what? It doesn't end there!! A friend who has asked her for sexual favours is also some kind of sexual abuse - according to their view! A friend saying that he might be sexually attracted to them - is a DISGUSTING thing for some reasons uncomprehensible to me!! Oh... There's lot to it. These girls feel so entitled that they have no 2nd thoughts in shaming the guy if he discontinues to be their friend, even after they treat him like an insect! According to them... These guys should endure all kinds of insults and should continue to be their friends. If they refuse to continue to be their friend, he is a pervert who feels entitled to sex!! again - you did not get my post. is this because of the #metoo campagin? or would your choice be the same whether or not there was a #metoo campagin. the thing is #metoo campaign is about victims supporting each other, if you are not a victim, there is nothing for you in it. Some may take it as a positive campagin for the victims, some might feel like torture, like Mav. but why it would change anyone's opinion on rape is something i try to understand. a murder is a murder, however you put it. A rape is a rape, however one puts it. Losing "Empathy" for rape or any other crime, because of a campagin someone did... hmmm, thats something I am trying to understand. Note, I am not even sure why gender is in the picture here. IF some one gets raped, i would expect the same outrage whether the person reacting to it is male or female. the moment you are picking a side, it just a sad state of affair. Yes, I will blame someone who is looking at this from a gender perspective. whether picking a side of man or woman. To draw parallel, this is a ridiculous to me as someone starting a campagin for sherin mathews, where child abuse is reported, and everyone who was abused a child starts responding #metoo, and people taking sides because some strange boundary they have set in their minds. | ||

It depends. If she is someone whom I know/love, I'd do every possible thing to make her feel better/recover If she is a stranger, I'd give her a benefit of doubt. And I'd do the samething I'd do in case of someone I like. If she is someone I dislike, I don't even care to turn my head or eyes. If she is someone I hate, my responses vary from being indifferent to actually enjoying her bad fate - depending on the intensity of the pain she has caused to me. Is she is someone who has posted stuff like... "even if I roam nude, nobody has the right to rape me".... I'd say... again - does not make any sense to me. anyway - lets say you are bombarded with 10000 messages of #metoo messages, and you are driving home and you see a girl who has been abused lying on the road. does your feeling about her change? if it does change your "empathy" towards her, Im curious, otherwise im out of this discussion. How did I miss this?? LOL!!! I never said that it is a guy's right to get whatever he wants from a girl. I just said... A guy has the right to ignore a girl's problems. Hope you got the difference. Women don't owe men sex, and men don't owe women friendship/love/care/affection/protection etc. If a woman doesn't care about a guy's needs, that guy has got all rights to ignore her safety needs! But, I have seen women shaming men for not rescuing a victim. The more such shaming incidents happen, the lesser my empathy would become. Demanding a guy to help a girl... and shaming him for not rescuing her is as ridiculous as a guy shaming a girl for saying "NO"! For example... In my student life, a girl said that she likes me and she'd like to marry me. I've said that I already had a girlfriend. And... What happened next is... This girl went to my GF and accused me of misbehaving with her, resulting in our breakup. Now... The girl has posted some stuff like... Her husband is abusive and metoo bla bla bla. Do you think that I'm going to feel bad for her? I'm unapologetically enjoying her bad fate. And my ex too has posted some #meToo stuff. And I'm unapologetically indifferent to her. If she had no second thoughts in breaking up with me, just coz a stranger has told a statement or two about me.... Then I have no empathy towards her! Am I feeling that it is my right to expect them to serve my needs? NO!! Am I obligated to feel sorry for them? NO!! Actually... Ok! Even if I ignore the impact of this kind of campaigns, the very root cause for this campaign is flawed!!
As long as a guy's sexual approach (with decency, and just asking if a girl is willing or not) is considered as some kind of insult/humiliation, there would NEVER be any change you are expecting/hoping.

I'm honestly requesting you to educate me. What kind of merit do you see in this kind of campaigns? According to me... Tgis kind of campaigns are only going to cause more damage to women, due to multiple reasons... 1. The more a woman posts about abuse related stuff, the fewer friends she would get. Because... If she says no to some "good guy" (read as non-abuser) that guy would assume that she would feel disgusted about his touch, hence she said no to him, and would never be her friend again. 2. If at all rape/abuse is all about power.... The more you express your pain, the more powerful the abuser would feel. Do you think that an abuser is going to have any empathy at all and would change his behavior after watching their pain? No!! It gives him some more satisfaction!! 3. Chances are likely that... Given the magnitude of "abusive events" and given the trivialness of the pain causing events (sometime back... Girls used to cry when a guy said "i love you" to her), the issue gets diluted and desensitised! I find absolutely no merits in this kind of campaigns!! Please feel free to educate people like me...
