this is interesting way to put it. but, having multiple wives is not something strange. people did all the time through out the history. people still do it, when one wife dies or divorces then they re-marry. are you saying you can only have one kid after somehow the first kid is out of your life? The idea that having more than one partner stems from the the logic that the other partner does not want another person being part of the relationship. it rarely happens with kids. one kid rarely gets disappointed that there is another kid that is part of the family. i am not saying that does not happen, but its very rare. In one post you say, Single kids can be good at giving away things, but from your posts, they might have difficulty of sharing their love with others, and might have acceptance issues if the person they love shares love with others. Gochi.. I have seen families with single kids. They are too much careful and they always try rub all their interests on one kid. Kid basically does not know the concept of sharing and compromising. they think that they are the one to get everything. Usually kids learn stuff from peers and they learning how to live in society. Bargain, compromise, share.. fight.. these things would never happen with single kid and single kids would never learn how to learn with group of people. | ||

recent ga oka experience from one of the birthday parties.. she is a single kid to her parents.. 8-9 yr old.. she was loving the company of other kids so much so that she wanted to take one of the younger ones home.. and was sad when she could not and asked her mom to give her a sibling in front of everyone.. andaru laughed and obviously took it as a lighter moment including the parents.. but at some level you'll end up feeling for the kid.. of course am not generalizing this is true with everyone but majority cases lo the kid will feel the lack of a sibling most of the time.. | ||

One. I was a single child myself and never had any complaints that i wanted siblings...more than 1 kaavali anukune vaallandharu probably they were also not a single child, thats why they can't take the idea of not having a sibling... Pros: You can give full and undivided attention to your kid. All your savings/ spendings will go to this kid, no need to think twice what will i do for the other if i spend everything for this kid....Even property division or post marriage u don't shuttle between the kids, less headache...No comparison related worries, if u have more than one, u will always tend to compare between them, even how good they are doing, one will always be in a better position than the other and you will worry about the one not doing well... Cons: chaala manchi chepthaaru, they will not have any body after we pass away, they won't have company to play, what is something happens to one kid etc etc...but again personally i never had these issues... | ||

I totally oppose One child concept. There should be AT LEAST two (either own kids or adopted). One kid is cruel, robbing his/her job of growing up with a sibling. Also, after parents pass away, the kid will not of anyone with his/her own relation. | ||
