If I ran a crooked system and rigged election, I'd blackmail insurers into hiding their ACA price hikes until November 9. But that's me. Lol

https://www.healthinsurance.org/blog/2015/08/19/why-pre-exis ting-conditions-mattered-to-millions/

i have been working for health insurance company since 2011. naku ivi anni telsu. pre 2011 lets say you were insured with a insurance company for N number of years and you just got diagnosed with cancer or some other major disease insurance companies used to cover for that year and next year nunchi policy renew chese vallu kadhu. he could not go to a different insurance company coz he had pre existing condition and vere insurance companies wouldnt underwrite the policy. but 2010-2011 lo obama changed this. insurance companies cannot deny renewal coz the insured has a condition if the insured is already insured with the company when he was diagnosed. also if you change your insurance and if you have one of the pre existing conditions , if you were insured with in the last 6 months for atleast 18 months before switching to a company the new company cannot deny your insurance showing pre existing conditions as a cause.

with ACA insurance companies cannot deny insurance no matter what. so i can eat how ever much chese burgers i want from MCD and i can apply for insurance after i came to know that i have a heart problem. insurance companies started making fuss about this. so they added a condition of mandatory insurance for everybody to compensate for this.

nnual limits are the total benefits an insurance company will pay in a year while an individual is enrolled in a particular health insurance plan. Starting in 2014, the Affordable Care Act bans annual dollar limits.

if this is the only benefit then we do not need ACA. this can be done as a separate bill like they did with pre existing conditions back in 2011

Understand the insurance dynamics
http://www.wsj.com/articles/the-unstable-economics-in-obamas -health-law-1471452938

The market for individual insurance—coverage that individuals didn’t get through their employer—was once similar. Older customers, women and people with pre-existing conditions paid higher premiums or paid more out of pocket. The ACA changed all that: Insurers can no longer charge or exclude coverage for pre-existing conditions or charge men and women different rates. They can’t charge older customers more than three times as much as the young. They must cap out-of-pocket costs.

By circumscribing insurers’ ability to underwrite risks, the ACA thus distorts how insurance is priced. Avik Roy, a health-policy expert who advised Republican Senator Marco Rubio during his presidential campaign, says the average 64-year-old consumes six times as much health care as the average 21-year-old. To adhere to the 3-to-1 maximum ratio, an insurer would have to charge the 21-year-old 75% more than his actual cost and the 64 year old 13% less.

The rational response to such pricing would be for young, healthy customers to stay away and sick, older customers to flock to the exchanges. The ACA included several mechanisms to prevent that: income-linked subsidies to purchase insurance; penalties for those who didn’t buy insurance; and three separate mechanisms to compensate insurers in the early years for outsize costs.

It hasn’t worked. The compensation payments have been much less generous than insurers were led to believe. Jonathan Gruber, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology health economist, says those missing payments would have eliminated most of insurers’ losses. Customers game the enrollment process by buying or changing plans only when their health changes. Third-party providers such as dialysis centers pay customers’ premiums so as to provide them with costly treatment. All this compounds the law’s unstable economics.

that is the reason the aca fines people who do not take insurance....it needs to be even more stringent looking at what you said....and the scum like her are everywhere who doesn't understand the purpose and will misuse everything be it insurance or returning an item to store after actually using it for what they intended to use.

Yay ACA subsidies... we don't pay much....

annual income 47k kante oka single dollar extra padina no subsidies. oka vela vachina, IRS will put a tax on it later

Calif lo situation, pay almost 6-7k in premiums for family and another 6.5k deductible, so looking at 13k and above. when you try to find a doctor, most of them won't take ACA, even when listed in aca web site. 13k a year and no benefits, this has to be the smartest scam ever

Shop around I'm sure you will find cheaper options. If you are in Florida 4 new insurers are adding this year. Unfortunately for Arizona the number of insurers will go to 4 from 65. This is purely competition driven market, govt has no control over this. Obama care offers subsidies or tax credit, so 8 out of 10 consumers won't feel the hike. If you are me of those 2 out of 10, you need to pay more.

You think people are gonna pay for it. I will find the article. it came couple of weeks back. where a lady has hepatitis C. took a plan for 180 dollars per month after subsidies. She enrolled, got it cured in 6 months. She was off obamacare as she doesnot want to waste 180$ per month then onwards. She admitted it was bad but she has to do what is best for her finances. She just literally mocked on you and me and all tax paying people. wake up.

ACA needs to have some more teeth to bite off the shameless corporate rthugs who are jacking up the prices. That is what happens in the so called capitalist control. The go vt needs to control areas like health sector and restrict profits....even after ACA, teh profits of insurance companies just kept raising even as they refused/ pulled off from markets not covering several people/ small businesses etc....public option is the way to go... the govt need to keep thsart offer on the plate....why not offer it and pull more people into it, if you are going to pay the ER bills, etc.

Without insurance obama or anything , the cost of unpaid bills will always be a burden .. ignorance is bliss aante , we cannot say anything ..

With insurance the bill is 100 dollars, without it is 1000 , and that is put on tax payers in emergency rooms. ER cannot deny any patient who has no insurance

Touch wood, you did not see the real bills in a hospital .. during surgery , the bills are so high , I thank god for the insurance and $150 or more per month is peanuts when the real need comes ..

$600k to $1 Million homes buying and $100 - $200 per hour billing and both wife and husband working ki why does it matter ? I am no where close to anything above ..
