Why? Consider this: Illegals will be advised to leave the country voluntarily within a given time period with a promise for preferential visa consideration. there are 3 options .. Give the path to citizenship (democrat position), or a visa( guest worker) ( republican )or deport ( Trump position).. Leaving them illegal is lot of headache. Right now they rights illegal immigrant are getting are very subjective to state and local laws. There is uncertainty in governance. There is no further reduction of costs with ACA. The supporters of aca let the insurance industry write the bill and didn't really bother to check the provisions. ACa changes which hrc is saying that she will pass to reduce costs are a pipe dream. It has provisions to pay insurance companies for upto 80% of losses they occur, and insurers will use that wording when cost cuts are tried. basically, govt can reduce the cost, but to do so, has to still pay the insurance companies. I'm pretty sure that's what will happen. this is the new iraq war strategy, keep money flowing to certain groups hoping that there will be economic benefits. there is no global economy if you really look at it. There is a consumer based economy in some first world countries and china with other 3rd world countries is the cheap labor supplier. This arrangement has worked too long, with little to no benefits for the 3rd world countries other than easy access to middling jobs. It's not just the economical thing to do, it's the moral thing to do to let 3rd world countries work for themselves rather than a foreign master. It might hurt them a little in the near term, but will strengthen them in the future There are no mass deportations happening. But it will be better than being ok with illegals coming left and right. And amnestying is an easy solution which has wrecked us labor market for a while. Theoretically, it sounds good to amnesty and let the illegals work in the cheap jobs. In reality, the newly amnestied illegal suddenly becomes expensive and businesses which got used to cheap labor simply replace them with fresh batch of new illegals and viola, new market for amnesty.
