Avunu constitution is above everything....isn't same constitution's saying freedom of religion and its practice.. Courts have many important things to do..than to decide who to go to sabarimala..first of all it is not promoting bigotry..or harassing women in the name of religion..it is practice which is going on since centuries.. in kerala which is known for its "marmakkathayam".. A judge questioned the proof "1500 yr old tradition"..that women are not allowed.. will question the same thing about every tradition followed by every religion.. This temple is only 350 years old antaku mundu ledu..[ some are quoting what was the practice earlier ..konchem research cheyyandi before you put a comment..I know its DB em raasina parledu..but you need to careful..].. Never understood why they don't allow women to go near deity .. it is first worshipped by sheperds.. may be the rule was theirs too.. It is open and visible and women can pray him from outside..if they can do it from outside why not inside.. I even searched "google talli" now did not find any answer...there is no story which says female should not worship here. Shani is Son of Chaaya and Surya is even married to Nila Devi .. he is not a bramhachari..so there is no problem for entry of women in this perspective too.. I visited this temple during my 12th standard[ on a trip to Nasik]..and did taila abhisekha..contrary to here in South India where priets perform such activities[we will give required material to perform] ...I am surprised to do that abhisekham myself here... I answered myself then probably the temple is not a typical temple..its open just like paamu puttalu/ some grama devathalu..where aagamas are not applied..then even female can worship .. Going by saastrams navagrahalani evvaru touch cheyyakudadu(Male/female) or abhisekham cheyyaakoodadu.. only dandam pettukovachhu..thats what saastram says.. it is the priest who should do abhisekham or anything.. Now better sense prevailed the temple authorities stopped even men to perform abhisekha and priests will do it because of this entry of women they now even barricaded God Shani.. | ||
