Do you know only this episode or cared to read previous episodes/chapters of Krishna vs Jarasandha war? The purpose of Krishna avatar itself is to eliminate the bad as much as possible. at the same no one dies until the time comes. During the previous wa time jarasandha lost to krishna many times. Each time Krishna literally killed the whole army and left jarasandha. again he comes with bigger army and scene repeats. In the last scene Krishna with Yadavas moves out and builds new city in between the Sea.
