Lucky that the constitution guarantees the citizenship by birth to people, you are better off with that rule, exceptions should be made to remove illegals and medical tourism etc and make it fool proof. Immigration is needed to make any country dynamic but draconian laws need not be implemented. I dont agree with your argument, immigration is a choice I agree and if not for employment based Green card I would not have become one too. However it is the abuse I am speaking about. It is the onslaught of the employment based visas that has back logged the entire system, when we applied for one we got it in like 1-2 yrs max. I should not have an issue with people coming here, afterall I came here to study and went on to work and become a citizen. The job market here is totally messed up and if it continues this way it is curtains for our kids (for people who have college going kids). It is the rampant abuse of the system and un-necessary increases in job visas(L1's) etc that are making it much harder in general for american kids as well to get jobs. Gone are the days when kids graduate from college and get a job which is decent enough. Its been 22 years since I am in this country and lot has changed since last 10-12 years on the job front in the name of highly skilled employees.
