ok.. so we dont have F16s .. we DID deploy flights to intercept them, and we DID shoot them.. the other party doesnt retract/fly back by themselves, this is not a picnic spot.. you did not understand the word CHASING - cos you didnt read the context - when you have flights coming in, and our plane is TAILING/CHASING them - we CANT let them away from a 9-3 position.. ie top Half of the radar - this is an advantageous position.. now, have patience, READ this part, and ask if this is ANY different to what you just said - " we HAVE to chase the F16, cos we CANT afford an bombing we CANT use a surface-to-air or other tactics, cos they can dodge easily that leaves us, to only CHASE, keep CHASING.. central air command is equivalent to civilian air traffic control, they monitor the flights and their positions and instruct the pilots when ever needed. never mind i dont think india has that system. | ||

Our combat tactics, especially IAF are simple - we have old machinery, but what we lack there - we make up with a much more practiced, disciplined, higher headcount force.. so the general idea is to NOT eject, and save the machine as much as we can.. in a dog fight, esp with a superior craft - when you start tailing it, its ur ONLY goal - to keep tailing it until you bring it down.. cos the momemt he is off ur 9-6.. you are dead meat.. from what i am reading.. this pilot seems to have done the same - kept chasing the F16- brought it down- but in a dogfight, he not just chased it he crossed the Line and got shot by the surface-fire.. i guess it cud have well been a provocation .. attempt to pull planes to their area.. brahma satyam jagan-mithyä jivo brahmaiva näparah | ||

Those pakis are far more nimble than we are in such matters and have always been, having to cheat publicly as part of their daily routine. Everything is centrally controlled there and one guy mostly does the talking, the ISPR guy. In India, we haven't discovered as yet how vital it is to control the narrative and almost always have some disgruntled, unwanted and non customer facing elements manning the PR desks in various ministries who then get into a turf war with each other and controlling the narrative is something very foreign to them. First they say we saw the planes and we scrambled out jets and they ran away dropping armaments in the wild 2. Then they come back and say the Indian jets were too fast for us 3. Next they come and say they actually dropped 4 bombs and hit nothing all is well and show some craters which look like the ones that will form when a grenage is thrown. We used 1000 kg armaments which will totally demolish anything out there. This is a heavy armament and will cause lot of damage unlike what they are saying The narrative they are trying to build is to totally deny any action by IAF and that they were successful in beating out IAF, if they dont do that their forces will become a joke in the eyes of their citizens. IAF pilot actually downed a F-16 upgraded one with a Gen-1 Mig21(upgraded) which are unequally matched and then his machine was hit but anti-aircraft guns in the mountains in POK. from my understanding, some paki fighter jets came into our side of LOC and Indian IAF chased them out while chasing them out couple of our MIGs went into pak side of LOC and they shot them down, of which one fell on their side the other fell our our side. the Abinandan guy is the pilot of the jet that fell on PAK side . either way this whole thing that happened today i think is a setup/act on both sides. imrankan/modi wanted to de escalate this situation so india did surgical strikes, pak shotdown two of our jets, one dood got captured. finally 2 sides will start war of words, eventually PAK side will release the captured guy.
