The last ditch efforts being made by the Congress leaders close to Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to bring a patch up between him and the Congress high command appear to have made no headway. Following the request from some Congress MPs like Sabbam Hari and Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Congress MP Sandeep Dixit, son of Delhi chief minister Shiela Dixit, held a lengthy discussion with Jagan in the latter’s residence in Delhi. Sandeep is, incidentally, a close aide of AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi and also party whip in Lok Sabha. According to reports from Delhi, Sandeep tried to prevail upon Jagan to abide by the high command’s direction and be loyal to Sonia and Rahul, so that they would consider his claim for the chief minister post in the coming years. He told Kadapa MP that he would gain nothing by confronting the high command, as both Sonia and Rahul were very angry with him. The first and foremost thing he should do is to cancel his yatra and issue a statement extending support to the Rosaiah government. As expected, Jagan did not like the idea of surrendering to the high command and lose his image among the people. He reportedly made it clear to Sandeep that the high command should acknowledge his popularity openly and extend support to his tours. Apparently, Sandeep came out with a frowned face. He told the media that he would continue to hold talks with Jagan again and again. On the other hand, Jagan told the media that there was no significance to his meeting with Sandeep, as it was a routine affair. | ||

The Kadapa MP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has virtually offered olive branch to Rahul Gandhi today. After realizing that he does not have the capacity to take on Rosaiah and Sonia Gandhi even with the help of the Sakshi news media, Jagan sent feelers to Rahul Gandhi to 'forgive' him and make mutual peace. Today Rahul Gandhi got the hint and sent his most trusted friend, Sandeep Dixit to meet Jagan and both of them held discussions in the Lok Sabha lobby for around half an hour. Sources say that Jagan sounded apologetic and reportedly wanted the High Command to atleats give him some 'good and worthy' post to stop his rebellion. Sandeep reportedly told him that he would forward his message to Rahul Gandhi. Later on however, Sandeep Dixit took an indirect swipe at Jagan. " Even I am the son a chief minister (Delhi CM, Sheila Dixit). But there is no overhype around me unlike the sons of chief ministers in Andhra Pradesh" chuckled Sandeep. It looks as if the war-weary Jagan has admitted his defeat to the High Command at last. |
