Guttonkay:Chiranjeevi defined what a well acted, well made mass movie is. There wasn't a hero who was good at dancing before Chiranjeevi came on board. And Chiranjeev is a good actor. It's unfortunate that when he made movies like "swayamkrushi", "rudra veena" people didn't receive them. Blame chiru fans for that :-)))
All that said, to compare them is silly and I hope no one does it outside, in real life.

Bushu:NTR did not define a genre - he was part of the mythological genre and excelled at some of those roles. also to keep in mind is his advantage of handsome looks; he was a very good looking man.
chiru single handedly defined the genre of angry young man in telugu movies, even if it was inspired from amitabh. he owned it like no one else could. he made the mass star dance like a dream and fight like his life depended on it(with no dupes most of the time). acting talent antey evari taste vaaridhi; to me realistic portrayal is more important than loud acting. in all his movies, there's never a single scene of chiru where you could say he wasnt sincere, he always gives his 100% to the most mundane scenes and somehow makes them interesting.

very well put. To compare Chiranjeevi and NTR/ANR is silly in the first place. They are a different generation. Movies from NTR's days won't gel with current generation for the most part - especially the color ones.

yupp mama...karnudu n dhuryodhanudu theesko....when NTR portrays these characters irrespective of those characters u feel like those r righteous people...ideally even when times u need to feel disgust for the characters u sympathize with them...i mean wat the hell...dhaniki janalu abbo vammo ani simpeskuntaru...where as chiru had the chance to start as a small timer...he showed his versatality as a villain where u feel absolute disgust for him as a feel good comic in chantabbai as a guardian in pasi vadi pranam...these are all commerical movies but he showes so many shades....and he respects the audience...never makes them bored...does something...even if it is peeling an orange or smokin a cigareete like the mundane acts he makes sure he outs some creativity into it so that audience wont get bored...that is the real deal .... a true mark of an actor n a star...india lo last megastar chiru anthey |
