OT, what you are saying is partly true but if YSR were alive, there would never have been a financial crisis in the state, his bargaining position with centre was very good because of his re-election + 33 MPs, centre would have pumped money. | ||

Addressing a media conference, senior party legislators G. Muddukrishnama Naidu and B. Gopalakrishna Reddy said the government itself had admitted to a drastic fall in revenue collections and that it may be difficult to pay salaries to employees. It was unable to clear Rs. 10,000 crore worth pending bills to contractors and has no funds for running pension, Arogyasri, ambulance service and housing schemes. White paper sought Blaming the government for financial mismanagement, they demanded a white paper on the actual situation. Though it was clear during the financial year 2008-09 that it was unable to mobilise funds, the government presented an ambitious Rs. 1.03 lakh budget and raised it to Rs. 1.05 lakh for the current year 2009-10, they alleged. The TDP leaders said the Congress government broke its election promise of not increasing bus fares for five years by resorting to a steep and unprecedented hike aimed at mobilising Rs. 1,200 crore. This would break the back of the people already reeling under agitations and demanded its immediate withdrawal. ‘Unilateral decision’ It was surprising that such a hike was done without the consent of Chief Minister K.
