Yep.. stage 1 should be easy.. I did some studies on patients with last stage.. Heavy chemo + drugs showed some efficacy.. Der..I feel sorry to hear that.. I strongly suggest that you get treated here, in USA and not in India.. You don't have to go to MD Anderson or other reputed cancer insitutes at this jencture...People who have failed to respond to conventional treatment are generally referred there, so that they get a chance to participate in clinical trials and explore newer treatment modalities... In your case, as of now, any good local Oncologist will do...They all follow clinical guidelines and chemo protocols.. Don't lose hope..Follow up with doctors on a regular basis.. and most importantly, keep enjoying life.. | ||

When asked again, they said, they do so many biopsies everyday (very common) but still explain the risks to every patient and their family. age ki relation ledhu..I am not talking negative sense here.. maa wife relatives lo idhariki kids ki vachindhi...(I do not know exactly what type) one boy of 12 years and he is no more (last stage lo detected, he was Adistrict 1st in 7th exams during those days..next year 8th class velle lope ila ayindhi)... another girl less than 10 yrs and was given treatment in NIMS and now she is ok... inko ameki ~70 yrs lo breast cancer detected and she took treatment in tirupathi..still surviving and she is doing fine... so age does not matter for recovery.. ... | ||

I want to say few things though, I know you are not in to biology, but read and educate yourself about this disease. Knowledge gives you pointers as to how to fight it. M.D Anderson cancer center is among the best cancer institute in the whole world. Give it a shot seriously. I will inquire from my side to get you any help. Take a firm grip on what you eat and lifestyle. Symptomatic treatment is essential here. As your immune system is affected, you are more prone to infections. Hence cleanliness is essential. I wouldn't recommend exercises as your blood cell counts are reduced. Your doctor might have give you more tips. Also, don't give up other options. Try yoga, traditional medicines etc. Finally, human spirit is the greatest thing in this universe. No god or sentient or insentient being is more powerful than human spirit. Humanity came a long way from the dawn of civilization. Human history tells us that a human being can evolve or develop only he fights against nature, both internal and external. Der - i'm assuming you would've gone to a general medicine doc who can only detect the symptoms of such things. Most likely he would have no clue regd the CURE for this. So as mentioned else where in this thread please work on consulting the specialists who can give a better idea either in the US or in India. Remember not every cancer is harmful. Der brother I am not sure the hospital that diagnosed you with CLL sees how many cases of leukemia per year. When it comes to Leukemia and lymphoma there are lot of GRAY areas which ordinary hospitals does not even know. I have seen cases where a local hospital diagnoses with one thing and after going to top hospital like MD Anderson and gettting entirely different diagnosis. Thanks everyone for ur good hearted concern...God has his own way. Thanks to Raju gaaru and Kamal and Neel for staying in touch with me through out... Just came back from the tests. Its just bad. I have been tested positive for CLL chronic lymphatic leukemia. They knew the results yesterday but waited for a pathologists second opinion till today. I have diagnosed with stage 1 CLL with intermediate risk. They have told that they want to approach it with a wait and watch scheme till the next 3 months. They dont want to do any radiation till they test all the drugs. The first question I asked him was about survival. He said that given age and my health, I can't be included into a bracket. But the median survivals are 10 years it seems. My brother in law has flown in yesterday night and I am going along with him to seattle now to meet another doctor at a private clinic. Thnaks everyone for your kind words. I pray for god to be kind unto ur families. |
