Dravid was never content with losing closely....he is one of those few cricketers who used to take defeat really as a motivation to succeed.....He drew a lot of inspiratio from steve waugh in this regard....he used to sit with him for hours on tours in understanding the psychological aspect of approaching a game....he understood that it was not over till the last wicket is down in a test....he understood that if you r stuck there with optimism oppurtunities will arise even from a hopeless situation..... I think he is pivotal in making sure indians are no more chokers when it comes to winning tests outside desham......B4 dravid found his mojo indians are always chokers when it came to big matches....we used to suffer from the fear of winning..a typical middle class mentality....content with a close defeat....we used to have the talent but whenever we came close to winning a match we were not ready to embrace the victory..even sachin was not above that......we used to suffer from that psychological disadvantage.....I think its dravid who changed this trend and started to giving it back to the opposition..he is the most toughest guy out there mentally in the whole team..he is not afraid of dreamning and not afraid of winning...for me since i started watching indian test cricket there are two eras....one b4 dravid and one after dravid...(in tests)..... |
