very intaRusting topic...mari ippudu naa vanthu...telugu lo oka old saying undhi..."Chintha Chacchinaa pulupu chaavadhu" ani...IMO that pulupu is what is EGO..everyone has it in them...depending on circumstances people display it to others or make others feel it..

Ego ante East Godavari ani anukunentha knowledge naadi ee topic meeda..so whatever I am saying it is JMO ..

I think telugu lo deeniki equivalent word is 'Aham'....aray vaadiki aham/ego addamostundhi raa oppukovataaniki ani antuntaaru...

Ego is ones self respect...ego is ones self confidence or arrogance or moorkhathwam sometines...ego makes someone not agree on things even when what others saying is correct...cannot accept the truth...

No need to go anywhere...see our own DB...we dont see face to face when we talk/discuss..its our souls that talk to each other..its our knowledge or experience or IQ of understing things makes/drives how we are seen by others here..eachone says whatever s/he feels/thinks that is correct..sometimmes we know that others are right and vayasu varasa ( i mean vice versa)...
what makes us argue(whenever we argue) on those topics??...that is ego IMO..

when i hear this word..Kushi movie flashes in my mind..hero says to heroine's dad that she has ego...
I think ego itself is a big topic..to this thaadu starter's question..yes it is good to have ego..even though we show our ego in bad way at times..internally we know what is wrong and right..it always helps us towards getting perfection in things that we do because we have ego and we don't want/let others tell/dictate us....we work more harder to be correct next time..know more so that we feel more powerful...

I think one who has too much ego and uses it in right way will acheive more in life..just my 2 cents..
inka..conscisous mindu..sub conscious mindu..memory..electircal signals etc are the topics for researchers/big minds to understand behind the scenes what is happening..

Ishan:

ee thread already too much digress ayyindi...

That's is the nature of these topics :-)

Nisarga:

In the end, we self-perceiving, self-inventing, locked-in mirages are little miracles of self-reference. Douglas Hofstadter, I Am a Strange Loop

A great quote...Thanks for the video- will surely watch it :-)

Nisarga:

objectively understanding our own subjective feelings and projecting them to others.

This is a double-edged sword ... I think you understood what I was trying to say :-)
aa chal ke tujhe main leke chalu ik aise gagan ke tale
jahan gam bhi na ho, aansoo bhi na ho,bas pyaar hi pyaar pale
