official proposal antu emi ledhu annai, we met in a Master's course as project mates, and after the course we used to meet ocassionally, talk over the phone. Over period of time, we each knew that we liked each other, but none spoke of it. We knew there were a lot of complexities, as we were from completely different backgrounds. I was about to graduate, after she came to know that I was graduating, she became a bit moody, I understood what the reason was. One day, I confronted her, after some coercing she came out saying that she wants to be with me. I reminded her of our backgrounds and how tough the going would be, asked her to take her time to think over, since once we take this step, it will be a never ending struggle. we dint talk to each other for a while, three weeks or so. it was a torture to take the decision, every second of these three weeks I was not at rest, finally i took the decision, I gave her a call, and asked if she wants to go to a movie, she said yes, and by the end of the movie, we knew were together.

I can write how i feel about love, but whatever i write i could never feel that i could do justice to what i feel.
Mani Ratnam did his best to potray the seven stages of love in the movie Dil Se. The seemingly irrational acts of the characters in this movie hold a testimony to the journey from the beginning to the end of love. Hats off to Mani for being able to conceive the idea. Gulzar penned the most wonderful lyrics, penning the entire movie into a seven minute song along with AR Rahman. Sathrangi re describes this journey of a lover from the moment the blissful journey starts to when it ends.
Though the movies runs with a back drop of terrorism, the idea of seven stages loosely based on the definitions in sufi literature is used as the main premise of the movie.
seven stages
Attraction - something akin to eyes meet
Infatuation - eyes keep on searching for meeting again,
Flame/love - the desire to not let the eyes leave you
Reverence - Once she touches your heart, you are in a state of daze where you do everything for consciously/unconciously
Worship - this is when your is completely entangled with/in her.
Obsession - She becomes an obsession, living with her becomes with an obsession Death - the stage when your souls completely drown into one another, no longer wanting to live seperately. almost like the death of yourself born into a new entity.
