He was driving 10 miles over the speed limit as he was getting late. As fate would have it, he got pulled over for speeding. As usual, cop came and collected the docs and went back to his car for checking. And then he spoke to someone on the phone... came back to him after 5 mins. "Sir, can you please step out of the car?" "Why?" "Sir, please step our of the car" So got down. Cop put a hand on his gun to be on the safeside.. and asked him to face the car and put his hands in the back. "But why?" "Sir, you are under arrest as you have a warrant on your name" He was shell shocked "Warrant? on my name? why?" "Sir, you will have to come with me for now. You will get a chance to speak and ask questions at the office" Meanwhile another police car came as backup So this guy was terrified now. Cop tied him up with the cuffs and took him to back seat of his car. 5 mins later... he was taken into police office and was asked to sit on a bench. His hands still tied up. Now, his ankle was also tied to bench. Then he came to know that there was a warrant for missing the court date. So this guy asks cops "what should i do now?" "Do you have anyone here, who can come and bail you out?" He was in upstate... at least 2+ hours for anyone to reach there. and it was getting late.. he didn't want to spend the night with police. So he had to call the girl whom he was about to meet for the first time ever to come to police stn to bail him out. Luckily for him, that girl did come down and helped him get out. Story the end anukune time ki one final twist. By the time they both reached the place where he left his car... it was towed. So they had to go to towing place to get his car out by paying some more money.. | ||

So this guy wanted to fight the tkt in the court. Contacted court and said, not guilty. They setup a diff court date for trial or whatever they call it. 3-4 weeks from that date. He said ok. But he was about to move from Phoenix to nyc due to job change. His move was planned 2 weeks after the incident. So he got busy with the moving and came over to nyc and totally forgot about the court date. So court sent 2-3 notices to his address in phoenix and then issued a warrant for missing court date and not responding. (This happens quite often to everyone.. not a big deal.. u just have to go to court and pay the extra fine etc) He had no clue that there was a warrant issued on his name. Since it was not criminal case, cops don't track/chase you around. 6-8 months later, one fine day (bad day?) he was supposed to meet this girl that he met online... so he drove to upstate nyc to meet her. He was 20 mins from the place where they were supposed to meet.... | ||

Friday story ani commit avvakandi. Real story... To start off, i usually stay away from damil thambis for various reasons. So when i was supposed to meet this guy for drinks, i was looking for reasons to call it off. I couldn't find any in time so i ended up sitting across the table with him... i had no idea that i would be ROFL in the next hour or so... Anyway, this guy has a management degree from one of the top b school and working for a tier 1 consulting firm. One of the very few damil guys with clean, refined English AND no accent... So he had few drinks and i had few cokes.. started talking about this n that...No idea how it started but topic went to cops in vomerica. That's when he put his glass down and suddenly started sharing his tiff with the cops 'i hate cops here dude.. these guys are a'holes... blah blah", he was furious I said, "wt happened?" 'don't even get me started... these guys r ...... " I didn't know what to say... before i could say something, he started again 'One day i was driving in Phoenix... one cop followed me for a min and then asked me to pull over.. then he came over and asked for my docs... luckily i had all the docs with me. He looked at my DL (which had immigrant status) and asked me "Sir, can you speak english?"... i was like wtf? So i replied to him, "Sir, i can assure you that, i am better educated than you"' So he (cop) got pissed off but recovered quickly and asked again "do you know why i stopped you?" "No, i don't... why don't you please explain" "One of your taillight isn't working. I pulled you over to give you a warning.. now you are getting a ticket for b'coz of your attitude" I stopped him there, "can he do that? is that even legal?" "Don't know dude.. obviously he didn't put any of that on the ticket.. he just said, broken tail light & careless driving.. so i questioned him again "careless driving?" Cop - "Sir, if you want to contest, please attend the court date listed on the tkt. you have a good day" I was like, anta noti doola enduku be neeku.. (of course didn't say that aloud) This was just the begining of his fight with the cops. Not sure if it was co-incidence or his utter bad luck or that cop really wanted to teach him a lesson... what followed next was totally barbarously funny |
