it is true that the challenges can be lessened a bit by earning more money, but that money is finite and not all can earn that and still many will remain which cannot be solved by money, like traffic,infrastructure etc. For an R2i or NRI or Non-Indian looking to live in India, looking at the Gross/Overall numbers, they would say that on the whole, india lo brathakatamu kastamani. | ||

To each his own .. but HDI does not take into account the comfort ppl derive in sleeping on a "nulaka mancham" on the arugu in vennela .. it instead looks at how many mosquitoes per head on that given night .. HDI is a gross representation of a country and reflects how majority of people living. The parameters chosen need not applicable to every person. For different income earning groups the application of these parameters will differ. For eg, If you take filthy riches like Tatas, Ambanis, they care a foot about these HDIs because its not applicable for their living style.. It does not matter for them where they live. Like wise, we as modest mid to upper class living people (who are the minority in this country) can afford certain comforts that can be on par with USA or to the level of satisfaction. The lifestyle will not get much affected with the geographical location. | ||

I know you meant respect for life in India and didn't mean disrespect to US .I have a very comfortable life in India for a multitude of reasons but my life is not representative of living life in India. I greatly empathize with the NRIs who visit India and feel that they cannot come back to their country or live in their country as they are not willing to compromise on the quality of life for sentiment, but still they are Human and they experience great angst for making this 'Sophie's Choice'. | ||

Well I know you are not being serious  , but anyways.This really is not a contest. In the HDI, US is ranked 4 and India is ranked 134. Forget about US, according to UN, there are 130 countries better to live than India. When someone says "India lo Brathakalemu", it is better to help him/her with coping with the fact because this really is not a fair contest.Coming from a 4th Ranked country to 134th Ranked Country and living, there is no reason for surprise if someone suffers after experiencing and getting used to a higher standard of living in US or the West. They crave to be in their country because of national and family sentiment but the quality of life is a major concern. | ||

Ekkada babu..nine years BTM Layout ikkada. My wife even goes out at 10 or 11 at night to get some groceries or to the medical shop. The only things i have lost here in these nine years is my shoes a couple of times when i put them outside the house. No eveteasing, no chain snatching...very very safe. | ||

India lo Batagalema US lo batakalema anedi it depend on our priorities..i am sure both have negatives and positives. Positives to move to India. 1. Parents- Most of our parents have made some sacrifices or other to bring us up to what we are today. I feel this is the time that they need us most.my example my mom or dad will never take an Auto and they still travel in RTC bus..Because of age or the heavy rush its not safe for them to travel but they will not listen. If i am around i am sure i can atleast take care of such small thing...i can take care of paying current bills, insurances and other utilities..today they do it all by them selves sometimes walk in summer...They are not so computer savvy to pay online 2. Kids- I always believe that kids will grow up better when they live close to Grand parents and they will understand Love and Affection better. Some of my best memories are with my grand parents and nothing will beat that. I want to give my kids also the same experience. Here in US almost every one is an Uncle or Aunty, they will never know what relations are but in india they will definitely know that.The best time as Grand Parents is to be with grand kids and pamper them..i am sure my parents will miss this if i settle here. These are the 2 reason i want to go back.Life is easy here but i am ready to work a bit harder breath some polluted air..drive on bad roads..no current for 2-4 hrs..i think is worth and i owe it to my parents and kids 08/24/2012-167.4 lbs 02/8/2012-181.2 lbs 01/04/2012-187 lbs | ||
