gsn i would like to believe that mostly ap is safe, you just need to condition the girls to be indifferent to the occasional spits, pinches & molestions. We still have a big poverty issue, once the economic conditions improve, the behaviour will also improve. sexual violence against women is very prevalent in the US also. only after roti, kapda aur makaan will culture come according to maslow. If we want to live in India, we must find ways to be emotionally strong against occasional abuse, otherwise the trauma is immense and depressing. | ||

I gave my personal feelings of how I always feel about moving back to India and pros & cons. As a father of 2 girls, India is not BEST option for me. Not that I am seriously contemplating of moving back to India, but this is how I FEEL. | ||

I posted this yesterday also in Manglore Thread. Whenever I think of going back to India, my first SERIOUS concern is life my daughters going to have in India. I DON'T WANT to live in a COUNTRY where my daughters doesn't have SAME freedom as boys. Everything is a problem for GIRLS in India starting from DISCRIMINATION, CONTROLs over them, LACK OF BATHROOMS (forget about CLEAN bathrooms), SOCIAL RESTRICTIONS you name it. Simply GIRLS don't have EQUAL life opportunities as BOYS back in INDIA. | ||

i think general public attitude that love is not "Indian". hundreds of these abuses are done by police go unreported. lovers usually have a sense of guilt hanging out or getting caught. everyone feels like they have the right to throw a stone at an unmarried couple. in India govt is jack of all trades and master of none. it just need to be master of one trade i.e. law and order, protecting people's constitutional rights of life freedom and liberty. strong message needs to be sent to people like this and moral police alike your google is as good as mine | ||
