In this year enni movies ki 1 Million Dollars vachchayi? If releasing is so easy why cant you guys do distributing? wonder what stops you guys! As I said, per my understanding, RM issue is with piracy. He said something stupid while bringing up his case. To counter, you guys are bringing up Ticket price issue. I fail to understand the relation, so I am commenting.
This year, I have seen Dookudu, Oosaravelli, Panjaa, Rama Rajyam and Gabbar Singh in theatres. Dookudu I saw in Great Mall. On fourth/fifth day, there were close to 25 people in theatre on a weekend. Oosaravelli, not sure where I saw: Great Mall or Big Cinemas San Jose. Only us in the theatre on a weekend. Panjaa. Big Cinemas, San Jose. Only our family was in the theatre on a weekend. Rama Rajyam went with another family - there were four families in the theatre on a weekend. Gabbar Singh, went all the way to fremont if I remember correctly - 20+ in the theatre on long weekend. Remember: we used to invite others to join but the reply we usually get is 'aaa website lo cam print vundhi kadandee, meeku teleedaa??? mallee theatre ki enduku vellatam'. Do you see why they need to put a premium price?
I didnot compare. You did it. You said, 'why telugu movies are being screened at higher price when hindi movies are being shown for less price'. There came the comparison. I am losing interest. You are asking: Why do they need to apply premium price?? Because they find a market here. And people paid that premium price to watch a mindless comedy called Dookudu. And the same people did not watch Business Man by the same number. So, it is self correcting. Sare.. meeku time vundhi.. you feel the cause is just. Go ahead. I dont understand the issue here. If I feel something is pricey I wont even take a second look. You have blockbusters which made million $ with those ticket prices. Others which have no stuff in them bit the dust and distributors were the ones who suffered the financial loss. Its like our banginapalli mangoes and mexican mangoes. I dont like mexican mangoes. I wont buy them eventhough they are cheap. I like banginappli mangoes alot but they were being sold at 35$ per box - which I find atrocious so I wont buy.
This is ridiculous argument. You, as a consumer dictating how to make a product and how to market it and how much to sell it.. Its like telling Apple to make ipads with retina display and HDMI connector in US and sell them at 100$.
I think it is because hindi market is huge compared to smaller telugu movie market. It is as simple as that. So they can afford it. Anyway. I feel I already spoke too much. Nothing personal here. | ||

I am totally out of touch with why people are ganging up against RM - err, telugu cinema. Agreed, he said something stupid but arent we the ones who gave away millions of dollars even though ticket prices were high? There is a demand. So distributors are paying a premium and bring that product here and there is a target market which is willing to foot the bill. Why are you guys telling others to boycott? His only gripe is piracy when the movie in its initial days. What ever RM has said, piracy is wrong. Can anyone say otherwise? Whether it is copy or inspiration, there are many people who worked to bring that copied/inspired thought of someone to the screen and many more people who add something extra to it be it with photography, music, dialogues, editing, fights, dance composing... list goes on.
