Mrhyderabad:

formula just once a day.. daanike ilaa vundi.

Idi quite common andi, do not worry. As he grows up and as he builds his immunity, they will mostly grow out of these allergies. My younger one was allergic to milk, she was on soy milk for two years, but she always tolerated yogurt though. Once she was two, we slowly started reducing the soy milk and introduced regular milk, and she is fine now.

Raju garu cheppinattu, you have other options like Soy milk, Rice milk, Goat milk, etc. Edi tolerate chestado choodandi and stay on it. If you can, get away from formulas that are triggering these allergic symptoms.

Puttinappudu pillalandariki untundi, kaani, as they start feeding, the digestive system kicks bile out of their system. Maa vodi case lo, he was not latching up properly, so his digestive system did not kick start this process, so his bile levels shot up quite high and he was put under UV for almost three days, he now has perennial dry skin.

If kids have jaundice, they are put under UV light and prolonged exposure causes skin damage and usually creates this dry skin problem.

there are days when he is 100% fine, clear white skin even with formula. So not sure what that means.

Similac advanced start chesi, isomil/sensitive try chesi final gaa allimentum isthunnam..

He is allergic to one or two ingredients, this is tricky, you need to identify the ingredients in the formulas and rule out each one by elimination to identify what he is exactly allergic to. Six months antunnaaru, slow ga solids introduce chestuntaaru, stay away from bottled food (like gerber, etc), this is very critical, they would actually worsen the food allergies.

Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein

Raju gaaru suggest chesinattu Cetaphil soap and Cetaphil lotion try cheyyandi. If that does not help, stick with Cetaphyl soap but get Aquaphor instead of Cetaphil lotion.

Allergies are an indication of week immune system. In Desam, our bodies are so busy fighting so many bugs, it keeps our immune system extremely strong. Here, better living environments makes immune systems weak, and causing bodies to react to all sorts of stuff we consume. In USA, kids allergies are going up at alarming rate and various universities like John Hopkins, Duke, etc are researching for cures at a breakneck speed. Particularly, a couple of pediatricians (one from JH and one from Duke) are pretty close to getting FDA approvals to their technique of curing allergies in kids.

Is he sleeping alright at night times or does he wake up quite frequently due to itch? HC on infants is strictly no-no unless he has severe eczema and having hard time for a good night sleep. So, do not go the HC route. Eczema, if properly managed, can be controlled without any steroids.

ezcema

Hyder, excema is also auto-immune disease like allergies. Also excema is an indication that the kid will be prone to allergies and asthma in future. Hydro-cortizone should be used sparingly. Tell your wife that docs here prescribe steroids and antibiotics for everything. Try cetaphil, and dont use any perfume based stuff (shampoo, cream, laundry detergent etc)

yes..

switch both soap and moisturizer to Cetaphil..and then observe for few weeks..

as far as i know we tried everything, nothing worked for her, each kid is different, Aveeno works for some, for some it aggrevates, nenu use chesina swiss product aggrevated her eczema more, so it all depends, try a bit of cetaphil and see how he will react to it first.

Using Cetaphil bath soap in place of Joohnson. Are you suggesting to use Cetaphil lotion/moisturizer ?
Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein

Mrhyderabad:

hydrocortizone

avoid it as much as possible, maa papa ki kuda vunnindi, we used to use this very sparingly, Doc gave us two creams for face and torso, we never used to use this on face, we used all kinds of creams available out there from Vaseline to some swiss made product which was damn expensive, one fine day we started using Cetaphil, from that point onwards there was no looking back, she used to scratch before Cetaphil, after Cetaphil her Eczema just vanished... And also she used to hate all forumla's here, never was happy with any brand, when we went to India we tried Lactogen, and it worked for her, we still get her formula parcels from India

Hydrocortizone OTC kuda kaadu... Rx version 2.5% di 3 times a day all over body ani cheppadu. He says it is safe... but i am kind of skeptical..

i would also suggest stay away..from this..

for Eczema ..on his skin..try Cetaphil cream and liquid soap..during winter..and you can switch to Aveeno or Lubriderm during summer months..

for milk..try Nestle..or try Rice milk or Goat milk...

if it was breathing related and if he was more than a year old..i would have suggested Ayurvedic..but your kid is too small to try those..

R2U thread lo mee post choosa on food allergies. So meeru already full research chesi vuntaaru ani posting..

maa ammayi ki no food/formula allergies. but buddodiki formula allergy start. 1-2 food allergies kuda suspecting.

similac regular, isomil, sensitive etc anni use chesaam no diff. Allimentum relatively better but unbearable smell and super expensive.

Friend circle lo couple of kids ki ilaa formula allergy vunte theirs docs suggested them to go for neokate (similac) which is not sold in shops.

Our PED doesn't want to go that route. He wants to attack allergy aggressively by using vaseline / hydrocortizone 3-4 times a day so that he will get over allergy. I like the idea behind his approach but it is painful to see scratching all over his body...

share your inputs. TIA
