one of the famous companies out here. initial take was that there was something in it because of the scar but it may draw out for some time. especially cuz sometimes with scars, it may even take a year before you know anything. But if the other party wants to settle before then, he said we will need to make a judgment call. | ||

everyone, thanks for the wishes. Yes, we are all mostly safe - was mostly scared for my son who thankfully is doing fine so far. My wife was the most impacted with a cut on her forehead that needed almost 30 stitches. thanks to the doc in the ER who did a great job with the sutures. but it will leave a scar, I think. @tif, hired a trial attorney, let's see how far he can go with it. the other girl apparently had a prior record, she was drunk, had an open bottle of liquor in her car. the only smart thing I did was that when I saw her coming head on, did not swerve the car and just took it head on. if I had swerved, woudl have got t-boned and the damage woudl have been worse. head on was good sicne the car took all the impact, air bags deployed and other than bad whiplash, I was spared any other bodily damages. Firstly thank god every one is OK.... if the other person is insured, their company might want to make a settlement with you. DONT. Talk to an attorney and try to get the maximum for both physical and emotional trauma. Cosmetic surgery will be covered as its not an optional treatment in case of accidental scarring. Bottom line dont settle and have the insurance company talk to the lawyer. What is the position of the other driver, is she ok, is she in jail? | ||

The other guys Medical will cover whatever the charges are either cosmetic or whatever. and at the final claim settlement he will give u some 5-10 grand as settlement in addition to the medical bill payment. | ||

Last week we had a nasty accident; head on collision by a girl that was drunk. My son and I escaped with minor bruises but my wife got a bad cut on her face. and the car got totaled. I am planning on retaining an attorney; any experience for people here with an attorney? and do's and dont's ? |
