then make sure that u exercise 45 mins everyday....6 days a week......running swimming cycling...try dancing with ur kids...its an awesome exercise......

Article gives good tips to increase HDL! Some which may increase HDL are:

Fish! The intake of several fish meals each week has been observed to increase HDL cholesterol, even over a short amount of time. Choose the fatty fish, such as salmon, sardines, herring, mackerel, and sea bass.
Make them tasty and appealing, and consume these fairly regularly. Fish oil in supplemental form has also been shown to increase HDL cholesterol over a longer period of time.

Other omega-3 fatty acids such as flaxseed (ground, of course), soy foods, green leafy vegetables, and walnuts are all good sources of terrestrial omega-3 fatty acids.

Purple skinned fruits and juices and some nuts may also have an effect of increasing HDL.

Very low fat diets will lower HDL as well as LDL cholesterol.
It is best to include some beneficial fats such as those found in fish, nuts, flax, avocados, and legumes (such as soy, kidney beans, chickpeas).

CJ dora...early morning workouts take more energy than evening ones....to the extent of 30%...some times........surprise ur body everyday.......sometimes just run 10 miles and dont run for 5-6 days in between......then run for may be a mile everyday...for 3 days and then 5 miles one day.........

Yoga gives u a lot of discipline

if u can, invest in a heart rate monitor...costs around 80-100..
wrap it around ur chest(bare skin)....digital watch istaadu...u can see ur hear rate in it...
aa 4 miles meeru HR less than 115-120 chestuntay...trust me u can cycle for the whole day without feeling a pinch
u shud target higher 130s to begin with

Also try Couscous and Quinoa. As an alternates to rice. Oatmeal is good too.

Main thing is go for Doctor checkup for bloodwork every 3-4 months to know ur counts

Article gives good tips to increase HDL! Some which may increase HDL are:

Another touch I like is adding roasted sesame seeds to the green chutney to add a little texture...:-)

Two variations chestanu :-)

The raw variety and more traditional pachadi..

Raw(Green) variety ayite..

Grind green chillies, cilantro, tamarind, a little jaggery(optional) and salt together.

Mash avocado coarsely with a fork and mix it into the chilli cilantro mix and the chutney is ready.

Cooked(Red) variety:

Heat oil , add mustard , menthulu , karivepaku, red chillies and garlic.
After they are fried add chopped tomatoes ( 3-4 ), turmeric,salt and tamaring pulp.
Cook till tomatoes are condensed and oil starts separating.
Mash two avocados with a fork.
Cool the tomato chutney and mix in the avocado mash.
Tomato avocado pachadi ready :-)

I like to mix in 2-3 spoons of raw chopped onion into both variations before serving:-) Raw variety lo tamarind badulu lime juice kuda veyochu :-)

Walnuts/fish oil/flax seeds or flaxseed oil..they all do it..google it and you will find it..

If it is heriditary, medicene is must.

For me Triglycerides are always less 150 but HDL/LDL were bad so eventual had to use medicene

Medicne, diet control and life style all go hand in hand

evening junk

dinner: rice( i am planning to cut)

was doing excercise but stopped it from 2 months, have to start

I have read somewhere that kids who have worked out..running/playing a game etc until they are 21 turn out to have lesser issues with Body Fat or Cholestrol in later stages of life..

compared to people who start working out later in life..playing catch up in their 30s..

so the youngsters in DB..if you have not played a sport in your life..this is the time to start ..or at least a workout regime

the honey we buy in costco has sugar (i realized later). the bellam (zigary) will not cause the jabbu though sweet in nature.

the honey made in india with bellam can be consumed as long as its pure honey

Bottomline EXERCISE and reduce JUNK food, fruits of any kind are good, substitute other foods like Rice with part Rice and part salads. No need to go in to hyperdrive right now unless your next result also comes in with high numbers. Normally one time numbers should not be a yardstick

If you follow a strict exercise regiment your numbers will be down automatically

Just exercise. Your food habits are good, avi kooda tinakapote you will collapse. Make sure you get atleast 4-5 hours of good exercise in a week, the more the better. No need for any medication. Yoga will definitely help if you are interested and have the drive to do it.
