1st team to win chasing in finals...history created by SL...I don't think they were lucky...after 92 WC..they went into exile for 2 yrs practice without playing any international match...they came out only in 95 and played Benson and Hedges triangular series with WI and Aus before 96 WC and gave incredible performance...that is when Warne and other AUS players started sledging...and then LTTE gave a warning they will finish AUS team if they play their scheduled 96 WC game in SL...AUS walked out and also influenced WI to walk out...96 WC was earned with blood and sweat by SL...not lucky WE THE NORTH | ||

We bought our first Black and white TV for 92 world cup. What a tournament that was. Heart breaking but watching Newzealand change the way the game was played was awesome. 96 was pinnacle in viewing experience though. Upgraded to color TV. Until that Semis against Lankans that was an amazing tournament. | ||
