Needless to say this is a very subjective discussion. Since we are talking about "rating" of directors and not the merits of director itself. Most overrated is Trivikram, in my view. He has no originality when it comes to direction, story writing and screenplay. While most telugu directors "get inspired" from others works, his are blatant copies, and fails to acknowledge that. He is a capable dialog writer, and he does seem to have the ability to pick the right cast - but his story telling falls apart, or is single dimensional. There is a reason great directors dont write their own ventures . for some strange reason, all telugu field writers seems to want to "graduate" to direction. Just as all would be actors, come to the field, to become directors, all non-actors seem to aim to become directors. This could be because, the field is not giving enough renumeration or recognition to writers. If only our lyrcists felt the same way, and they started moving to direction, we would have lost some incredible ones. | ||
