antuna ani kadu.. stomach pain is actually cos of the damage thats already there.. nothing to do with millets..

so bloating ayina ventane.. kurchunna pani avadu.. body emaina piston a .. spring vesi eject cheyadaniki :D

the millet change in terms of Fibre %ge could be too harsh to adapt.. cos your system is used to certain food ( mostly junk? easily digestible ? ) .. go gradually.. with quinoa etc, then 1 millet gradually..

n on side note...milk from cow or buffaloes is for their young ones, they r not meant for humans...

milf of cow or buffaloes has harmones which promotes all the internal organs of their young ones...which is not good at all for humans...

but when it gets changed as yogurt or buttermilk, those bad things for humans r negated by bacteria...in the form of perugu thodu...

Yeah..kumme vaallani kummanivvu maama...manakemi nastam....vaallake nastam...

before this millets diet...after 2 sets of playing tennis....my energy levels are completely down and stop the play.....now I am able to play 4 sets easily....

I am sorry to hear what your mother is going through mama...I can feel how painful it is....

yeah if she can follow some diet control that would be good....white rice is a killer mama..not at all good...

Some parents don't listen.....my father was like this he never listened to anyone.....he was a diabetic....chain smoking...alcohol..etc..he passed away when he was 55....we tried our best to change him....but not succeeded ...

I would recommend you check the sugars every day 3 times a day in the beginning....

prepare a spread sheet and maintain a log what you are eating, drinking and physical activity etc....so that you will get an idea what's happening with diet and activity etc...

for example...I noticed that when I eat potato curry with my millets...my sugar levels are little high....so I stopped eating potato curry....

So if you maintain a log....after 3 to 6 months you will have a knowledge on what to eat what not...etc....then you can check sugars once a day or once in 2 to 3 days etc...

I stared Millets diet 3 months back

The first day when I started millets diet...I took the regular dosage of insulin....in the mid night I experienced lot of shivering, headache etc....then immediately I checked my sugars....sugar levels are 60...which is very low....Immediately I took some honey....that day itself I had a feeling these millets will for sure will work for my health issues....

I will soak the millets (1.5 Cups) around 7pm and cook them in the morning around 6am next day....eat with our regular indian vegetable curries and curd etc....total 3 meals a day....breakfast, lunch and dinner..all three meals are millets only....so each meal 1/2 cup uncooked millets...

we even make upma and kichidi with these millets....haven't tried idly, dosa yet...

VRK world lasted only 1 week...i couldnt stay away from fruits n yogurt...however, i have lost 7 kgs in a week..but continued all the good things from vrk world...like unrefined oils, unrefined sugars..but with the advent of Khader Vali's world, transition became much easier...HD being a vegan made it a lot easier for the whole family...

in Millets diet for more than 2 months n still going strongggggggggggggg...

I used to take 50 Units of Lantus (Long Acting) insulin before bedtime every day and 5 Units of Humalog (Short/Fast Acting) insulin before every meal...

After my millets diet...I am taking 25 Units Lantus and not taking Humalog at all....

I am sure I will be out of medication in another 6 months....

I am the true example .....I am suffering from Diabetes for a long time, I tried all kinds of diet...nothing worked for me......but after this millets diet, my sugar levels are amazingly reduced and I don't feel hungry anymore and my energy levels very good now....I can clearly see the difference in my heath...my stamina etc.

My sincere request is before you post opinion on millets...first you should try eating them then post your experience ......

nice.. I too just bought a pack of kodo and foxtail millet(for 51 and 35INR per 500gms) from MORE....going to replace pearl millet and ragi with these for few weeks..

due to low glycemic index and a little more fiber millets may be better than rice...but is it not basically carbs!! it may not be that useful for diabetics ...but a better alternative for all.
low carb, high fat and moderate protein diet would anyway be better than other diets per my current understanding which stands corrected based on the new info as it gets available.

that is what we are trying to do , millets is just part of what Kharder vali says,
he wants us to walk 70 min a day, do 30 min around yoga or meditation , drink water with copper, don't use refined oil or milk or non stick pans, use saseme seeds etc
We used to eat white rice, and eat all white thinking it is good , then brown rice and now millets , tomorrow they may find some thing better than millets and we will try to adapt

We are not uneducated , to the extent we have some knowledge and don't have to be constantly reminded of following blindly and your a messiah to educate us
