Djokovic's career changed after he invested in his coaches - Becker and Lendl. they changed his game a lot. He was wasted in his early years with controversies, weight issues etc.

Lendll coaching cheyaledu joker ki...becker chesadu 2013-16 madhyalo chesaadu...overall joker without becker won more slams than with him....

I think becker improved his serve ...that is helping him even now...

Djokovic is well placed to cross Federer slams

At 31 Federer had
A peaking Djokovic
Clay court specialist Nadal
Murray
Raging Wawrinka
resulting in 4 yrs drought

At 31 Djokovic has
Close to retirement Federer
Clay court specialist Nadal
Retired Murray
Hanging Wawrinka
+
No one from next gen that can go deep into SF/F

Djokovic can't be termed a late bloomer.. Fed is the only late bloomer of current gen Big 3.. even if we consider the pre-Fed era i.e. the group of Samprases, Agassis, Beckers, Edbergs etc, Agassi is the only one that comes close to Fed to be qualified a late bloomer..

Fed and Agassi won their first slams at 22.. all others in the above list have won their first Slam title (and also started winning everything big outside of Slams) in their teens or before they crossed 20 including Djokovic.. the only reason why Djokovic didn't win anything between 2008 and 2011 was due to Fed primarily and to some extent Rafa.. there were numerous Slam semis/finals back then where Fed stopped Djokovic..

joker kooda chaala kastapadi.....hurdles dhaatukuntu vacchadu.....deserving champ...

his initial days where he used to struggle on court and then for couple of years getting smashed by Fed/Nadal....then peaks...then personal life valla form loss etc etc...

but kept his fightinh spirit and self beleif going.....

i doubt...anyone else would have dreamt of dominating Fed and Nadal..after those initial struggles....he never gave up.....

ninna final maatram..most one sided...i saw....he played the perfect champions match......he had answer for everything anipinchindhi....

kudos ra joker ga.....

So, lets cut the crap of him crossing Fed's tally. We are happy if he gets another 3-4 Grandslams eventually. History says our man is about to face a slump again sooner than later.//

Sachin:

joker form lo unna fed/stan mathrame joker ni nkottagalaru...stan gadu baseline nunchi bulldoze chesthadu...

19-5 Head to Head record for Joker against Wawrinka.

Thokka kottali vaadu consistent ga Djokovic ni.

Stan redlined a few times when he was in hot form and got a few wins. Unfortunately they happened in a few big matches which give the impression that he has a game against Novak. He simply isn't consistently good enough to handle Djoker.

Only Fed has a case to beating Djoko when both are in hot form, but this is again on Faster Courts which suits the Swiss's explosive play.

To beat Djoko, One has to serve lights out not giving him a chance to return much, retrieve everything and redline enough to blast power winners left and right. But this happens really rarely only when a player is in red hot form of his life and Djoko is not exactly firing.

For good or worse, law of averages catch up and no one can do that enough throughout their career.

It is simply no wonder Djokovic has a big Head to Head record over all his contemporaries. The numbers do not lie. He has a near perfect game.

For all his potential, I would still say Djokovic underachieved most of career.

For starters, he was a late bloomer and he started winning Slams much later than Nadal and Fed only when he was 24 in 2011. He had major fitness issues till then and had a single GS prior to that.

He again missed making most of his form from 2012 to 2015 where he hardly had a Single Grandslam per year.

Just when he hit Top Gear in 2015-16 when he won 4 Grandslams continuously and looked like a lock to catch Fed, he simply fell off the Cliff for inexplicable reasons like Lack of motivation, Distractions and eventual Injuries & Surgeries.

He went AWOL for 2 years which I believe allowed Fed to get 2 AOs and Nadal to get a USO in 2016-17.

Djokovic himself allowed his rivals to distance away and he is playing catch up again.

So, its Dejavu for Novak fans as this was the same hype he underwent after 2011 and 2016 after going on a tear and cooling off.

If he maintained his focus from 2011, he would have easily been at 20 GS by now already.

So, lets cut the crap of him crossing Fed's tally. We are happy if he gets another 3-4 Grandslams eventually. History says our man is about to face a slump again sooner than later.

if at all there's a gap for this 5th major to be inserted then it'll be between Aussie and French.. the gap in which we have the biggest non-slam tourney at Indian Wells.. 5th slam kantuu chance unte adi ee Indian Wells lone as the facilities here are almost as good as a Slam.. andunaa Oracle head Ellison is the owner of this tourney.. but ikkada vaddu baboi.. peru ki hard court ane gaani it almost plays like Clay.. ila am sure there are other marquee tourneys those are ready to take the leap if a chance is given.. so Asia lo Slam dakkadaaniki no chances currently.. anyway ivanni antha easy kaadu.. as i said the current tennis season as is runs almost a full year and i actually think it needs to be shrunk a little.. already players are suffering burn out issues

i still think he will be the favorite at french this year. Nadal konchem body ni preserve chesukunte he has a good chance to get few more GS. prathi addamaina tourney lo chinchukoni adatam waste. joker will hit the slump/early exit sometime ..aa time kosam wait cheyali...

also he has to start coming to net ...joker ni baseline nunchi kottatam chakla kastam....joker form lo unna fed/stan mathrame joker ni nkottagalaru...stan gadu baseline nunchi bulldoze chesthadu...fed with volleys and joker ni net daggariki theesukuravali....

net game is the only flaw in jokers game....jokers terms lo net ki vasthe he is good. ade short slices tho theesukuvasthe he is not effwctive...you have to break his rhythm..

including the marathon match against joker in 2012. That was for anyone to win.

back then Djoker was much more of a defensive grinder much like Nadal.. so was close like so many of their other matches those days.. later on Djoker got much better offensively

If AO isn't Nadal's style then how come he came to the AO finals 5 times? He lost some gut wrenching matches at AO including the marathon match against joker in 2012. That was for anyone to win.

bhayya nenu slams gurinchi matladuthunte nuvvu rankings and their meaning gurinchi talking enti? rankings of course help top players by giving them higher seedings.. but these generational players ki they dont matter much if they are in top form.. 2017 Aussie Open lo Fed was seeded 17th and Rafa 9th..

Fed took down 4 top 10 players and got through 4 5-set matches with an epic final taking icing on the cake.. the manner in which he had to tough it out given his 6 month long layoff from tennis prior to that was just EPIC.. STUFF of a legend.. anthe

For Djoker to even sniff at Fed's Slam count, he needs to get at least 2 out of the remaining 3 slams this year.. then we can say he has a chance of catching Roger
---

correct momentum untundhi.....

but French he will try too....this year.....and i think he will skip some tourneys....simply the points gap is too high...

Fed still...Haulle tho grass season...meedhey better yemo.....clay season antey.....he is putting too much onto himself by the time Wimbledon comes....and its hardly two week diff between tourneys...

eesari...french open...ki first weekend....ki drive anukuntunna....no plans...just drive...and queue up.....for first saturday.....choodali....

Continuous gaa he comes to finals at least for 2 tournaments. Last year US open lo SF lo retired. I would give him at least another year or two with a realistic chance of winning at least 2-3 taking his tally to 20.

AO is his unlucky ground where he lost some very hard fought battles. Nyayam gaa aite unko okkati anna gelavaali.

One thing I don't understand is how he fails to beat Joker at AO when he has beaten him a few times at US open. May be he starts low at the first tournament of the year.

Consider just this for perspective -

End of 2016:

Fed - 17 Slams (last slam won in 2012)
Rafa - 14 Slams (last slam won in 2014)
Djoker - 12 Slams (last slam won at 2016 French)

Fast forward 2 yrs, the gap remains the same:

Fed - 20 Slams (last slam won at 2018 Aussie)
Rafa - 17 Slams (last slam won at 2018 French)
Djoker - 15 Slams

fast forward another 3 years
Rafa will not move beyond 18
Fed may be +1 or +2 at the max
Djoker will be definitely 10+

Grand slams ante maree peka mukkallaa kanabadthunnai ga.. we should never lose perspective based on current happenings.. just an yr ago no body saw this coming for Djoker with where he was at.. similarly just 2 yrs ago no body saw it coming when both Fed and Rafa added 3 more slam titles all of a sudden with a void of 5 yrs and 3 yrs before then with no titles respectively
--

agree....

but form and current ranking and who's on the horizon....ni choosthey.....next three....slams this year.....provided no injuries.....usual suspects.....unless...a major shock....happens...

next year is a different thing to discuss....

Ranking lo number 1 player played number 2......and zverev is distant third....and then del potro.....

tennis lo mens rankings....konchem realistic untayi ani naa feeling....they cover the form very well for top 3....very rarely....it missed anukuntunna....unlike womens.....
