I am not sure about MAG box, if it supports VPN. Also not sure if STBEmu supports VPN. When you use VPN router, you have two wifi's...one is from the ISP and one is from the VPN Router. You can use VPN Router Wifi for downloads and IPTV. For all other stuff you can use ISP wifi. If we have MAG box, we can use separate wifis. If the STBEmu does not support wifi then the smart tv has to use the VPN Router wifi. Is IPTV worth? You need to get the reliable VPN service (add another 50-100/year) and the VPN Rotuer (add another box for 80-200) and then you are not sure if the iptv exists for year or more? | ||

protocol is legitimate vunkl... it is used by everyone. its an open source project back then, and there were lot of contributors.. and it evolved. Image it like working implementing open source web servers.. the webservers are used for legitimate and not so legitimate purposes. the only implementation that I was not so proud was the Gnutella project. I realized very soon that it will be used more for negative purposes than for positive purposes. i stopped working on it, after the first version. the version did not include "download" or "PUSH" request in the design anyway.

I understand my post my be regarded high-handed, but a word of advice. As co-dber, my suggestion would be not subscribe to these IPTV providers. Most of the stream is not licensed to be streamed to the USA. I know most providers just do it, because they CAN, as the technology allows, and might not be really considering the repercussions, until they get caught. As a subscriber, usually unless the content is being dowloaded, it will be hard to prove of any illegal aspect on your side, but you are still paying someone who may be doing something illegal. I have been involved in development of some of these protocols and I have decent knowledge on how, anti-state groups, terrorist groups use these streams for funding. these business act as front for stolen streams. Even if IPTV providers are unaware of they can reach the streams, they might be funding really bad elements. As a friend my advice - If you dont care about the above, and if you are going to subscribe these providers, pay and sign-up for VPN services. It will guard you against any legal issues. | ||

Annaayi, quality is the same. But for instance, it takes 45 seconds for Maa TV 4K to load on Smart TV using STB client (giving you an example). Once it loads, the picture quality is awesome.
