Mav bro, in ear antibiotics are not unusual. But they prescribe them if the kids already have tubes placed in their ears.
Either way, it is only 2 antibiotics so far and not much out of standard practice. You can't sue them for this.
One thing you can do is find out if your kid has allergies. Allergies and colds and coughs are all interlinked for most part.

mav, most winter coughs are viral, not bacterial. Also, ear infections occur because nasal secretions are not cleared out, trapped in ears leading to bacterial growth. Giving oral antiobiotic is not first line of treatment unless there is fever. They gave abcs second time to prevent secondary bacterial infections. You can't possibly "sue" for this. For ears topicals work better because systemic abcs have less penetration.

doctor practice is like debugging a program , some people are good at it and some. Some of them them they just go by book instead of their experience.

antibiotics will not work on virus . Antibiotics should be used only as last option//

I know that. recently my daughter sudden high fever (104) with cough. Normally she does not get that much high fever with viruses. with common viral she will be still active with motrin. but this time she felt very fatigue , no energy, sudden chills from the first day which is unusual. I took her to the doctor on first day and told my concerns. she did thorough check and suspected sinus bacterial infection and prescribed antibitocs on first day itself. even with antibiotics she had hard time for 3 days then she became normal.

I would have been kicking my self if I had not done anything for 5 days thinking that it is viral and will goway.

neomycin polymyxin B sulfates and hydrocortisone

Cortisporin Otic Solution (neomycin and polymyxin B sulfates and hydrocortisone otic solution) is a combination of two antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid in an ear drop used to treat outer ear infections caused by bacteria (also known as swimmer's ear).

usually prescribed for swimmers ear, but for kids swimmers ear is rare. it should have been an oral

if within the same location or office yes, they wil access. but if they are in different locations, and offices, they may not have access.

First, never expect a full treatment when you visit a doctor that is not your primary. they simply wont take the risk with medications that require a prolonged medication dosage.

second - not giving an antibiotic for a cough/cold visit will always not happen, sometimes even if its the primary doctor.

anyway - you are convinced the doctor something wrong, but i dont think thats the case.

i am also curious to know what antibiotic (ear drop) she prescribed. never heard of such a thing.

cough ki treatment enti unkl, unless there is bacterial infection or something

bacterial cough infection manifests to ear infection kada mastaru.99.9% kids get that earinfection only if there is a associated cough or cold. when that is not controlled or body cant fight, it shows up as ear infection. a oral antibiotic would have killed the cough and the ear infection should have gone by itself if the underlying cause is treated

i dont think it will work. doctors wont prescribe medication because we asked. no doctor who knows the full history of patients, especially kids, will prescribe medications, unless they know that the primary doctor is not available for a follow up.

Generally - when you visit a doctor that is not the primary, they do not take risk and only provide treatment that helps the situation until the primary doctor is available, unless the kid's life is in danger.

These doctors do not have the health history of the kid, known allergies, previous treatments and any other medical situation they kid is.

Typically when you visit a doctor - they will almost always, tell you to monitor the condition and ask you to visit, if the situation does not improve in the next two days, or visit the primary doctor once the primary doctor is available.

For cold/cough visits to a doctor they do not perform blood tests to identify the cause, whether a bacterial or viral infection. In case of viral infection, the doctor wont prescribe an antibiotic anyway.

Typically, the observe the relevant conditions in the neighborhood.. that is number of cases registering because of bacterial infections, viral infections and so on, also other indicators that can "help" to "guess" whether its bacterial or viral infection.

Doctors typically who give antibiotics on the first visit for cold/caugh - know that there is a bacterial outbreak in the area, and tell you if the fever does not go down in couple of days, to contact immediatly - at that point, they mostly conclude its viral or use a different type of antibiotic if they suspect that it could a different type of bacteria(again a guess based on current situations in the area).

i got it done for my son...9 years ago...some of his current class mates for it done too

middle ear infections frequent gaa vastuntay , small plastic pipe pedathaaru
for the canal to develop normally and avoid infections

around 9 months age,
my son has 4-5 infections in three months...torture unday
every night he used to suffer

we went to an ENT spl. ...they do multiple tests, wait for sometime to see if condition improves
if not pipes
he did not have any more since then
few months lo pipes pop out and doc removes them...rice grain antha untaayi shumaaru gaa

his class mate had infections even after pipes ani his dad told
each human body is diff.

Ear infection ki amoxicillin ichara? Adi oral e kada. Ma intlo expiry ayye varaku unchi, ear infection anagaane adi ichesthamu.

first visit appudu amoxyllcin ivvaledu..just antibiotic ear drops..after insurance it costed 75$, ninna iccharu oral amoxycling=..just 8$ payment.

so u pay for 2 visits, 1 visit extra cost..1 additional high cost medication..all for nothing..the source of ingection cough is not treated first visit lo

i am giving a wild guess -

if ur appointment is thru the new-age apps (practo etc ) they probably take ur feedback on the particular doctor,service.. and address them since stakes are high..

else regular doc/hospi setup lo.. dustbin pakkane suggestions box undachu..

They are not accountable for not treating or under treating. They are only accountable for misdiagnosing and wrong treatment. They play safe

How are doctors checked for accuracy of their treatment plan? emanna adigite, we did what I thought was correct antaru..patient reacted differently to medication antaru..sometimes i feel docs in US have no accountability

situation here. my kid got ear infection started from cough and cold. dec last week lo..took an sick appointment on dec 25( holiday kabatti extra 100$ fee and a different location from my regular practice)..sare velte, the doc prescribed only a ear drop(anti biotic). i asked for an oral antibiotic as thats the usual treatment i have seen for earlier ear infections. i spoke to the clinic manager and left a complaint on the first doc, but not sure how much they will consider..

somehow i feel, they are not accounted. can we say, naaku ee time lo code ila raaste better anipinchindi..prod lo fail aite nenem cheyyanu? is there no accountability for the line of treatment the doc took. i know they try to reduce antibiotics, but middle ear infection associated with cough and cold ki oral kakunda ear drops is a wrong plan..she just did it wrong
