The recordings only starts if it hears alexa or any noise that sounds like alexa. for example all right, all ok, arey, allah, aa lakshmi, aa maathram, i will see - anything in our accent sometimes sounds alexa. good luck | ||

I had same conversation with my Amazon engineer friend couple of months back.. In his words: It doesn't, it gets into listening mode only if it hears Alexa word. Anything that Echo records are stored in cloud and is visible/transparent to the users. There is no in built memory in the hardware to store secret conversations.. He is 200% sure on the concern. | ||

unless and otherwise you plug off from the wall and drain (if there is a back up battery in them) them, they would keep peeping the sounds. Also few smart tvs also LISTEN to us continuously. no need to have holes for walls, the holes are INSIDE rooms. | ||
