RS ki em thakkuva? Murder of Aadhi/JB/PR and all the killings by Villian gang...most of them were violent. Why single out ASVR? At least violence here is justified considering it is Faction. | ||

Whats it About? The Prodigal Son returns, striving for peace rather than seeking Vengeance. 1st Half: Opens with a bang. Absolutely intense and on the money for the first 40 min or so. The plot line is made daylight clear. Slowly moves on to a lighter setting for the next 40 min with a solid Pre-Interval Bang. 2nd Half: Second half is regularly interjected with one important sequence or the other keeping it gripping. Pre-Climax and Climax buck the usual commercial trends but are rounded off sensibly. Analysis: One thing that shines out through is the Intensity in the movie. I simply can't remember the last time I've watched any movie which starts off with the Climax episode. Yes, you heard it right....The Opening Sequence is a Climax many filmmakers dream of having in their movies. Its raw, intense, on the edge and a goosebump sequence. The fights are fantastic, but what stands out really here is the performance of NTR. The way he portrays his lil journey from absolute shock to controlled, restless rage and perplexed grief at the end of sequence is simply spellbinding. It is one of the best scenes any actor has performed in recent years and a sucker punch to critics who assume NTR can only portray loud emotional outbursts. Thanks to an emerging trend in TFI today, Trivik and Tarak have decided to trust their instincts on story telling rather load the movie with unnecessary junk in the name of 'commercial entertainment'. The movie runs on a single point agenda of following the plot line and hardly deviates. The lighter moments are far and few and don't come as a separate thread too. Like Koratala's movies and Rangasthalam, the movie moves at its own pace and doesn't take cinematic liberties. The unique thing abt this movie is that you feel you are watching a movie from the Climax to the Opening. Trivikram wanted to tell his story the way he wanted authentically and he could. Anymore 'entertainment' in the movie would only have done more harm than good. There are enough elevation scenes to highlight the Protagonist. There is enough emotion in the content. And most of the characters have enough time to make their screen presence felt and everyone did a great job. And the most important thing that all good movies have, this movie has heart. Its a honest, genuine attempt by the Director and Hero to tell a story they believed in - The Aftermath Faction Story from Women's perspective. The Good: - NTR - Trivikram's classy take on Mass Faction - Dialouges - Jagapathi - Authentic Seema slang by nearly everyone gives it a native rawness like no other - BGM - Highlight Episodes work well - Unique Opening and Ending The Bad: - Romance between leads felt a lil undercooked - Some characters like Sunil, Devayani cud have been used more effectively - Peniviti Song cud hav been more effective and it was ridden with poor lipsync too. - Lack of a physically intimidating villain. While JB was scary good, there was no match to the Hero where he was threatened physically. This is the difference between a commercial mass great like SSR and the next tier. (Think Bhikshu Yadav/Bhallala Dev/Sudeep) - Songs aren't an asset to the movie Bottomline: Intense Faction Drama in a new perspective. 3.75 **** P.S: For those who ask if entire family cud watch, Violence is as much or as little as in Rangasthalam. If they cud watch tht, this shudnt be problem. |
