that is a very wrong interpretation of population growth. govt. did no special or extraordinary steps to prevent the growth. The birth rate is still higher than the death rate. We have been successful in declining the death rates but the same cannot be said for birth rates. The fertility rate due to the population policies and other measures has been falling but even then it is much higher compared to other countries. | ||

That's a gross generalization of reality. India has its share of problems like any other place in the world. It is fighting its own demons like any other place What is the percentage of fathers killing their daughter to fathers willing to die for their daughters!! I would take rest of the comments by the reader as frustration.. so can't agree with the best part Changes don't happen overnight and don't stay permanent. India is transforming.. let's not hang on to what happened... Cultural shifts don't happen overnight. I see a lot of changes from my childhood to now.. my dad is amazed by the progressive growth.
