Somehow I dont like shopping malls either. Even grocery stores..

It's a combination of light, aroma, closed spaces, aisle etc. Basically sensory overload.

I feel dizzy when there is that overload. And tired, watery eyes with strain in eyes

Acute Sinusitis probably. Migraine is a whole different ballgame. You enter unknown dimensions of the pain realm.

For me , it starts with shopping.

Whenever I go for shopping, probably we watch things closely , continuously and seriously. eyes pain tho start ayyi, neck back side pain tho baatu, finally headache vastundi.

I just avoid shoppings. May be lighting in shopping malls causing it. I do not know.

triggering points:

1. Less sleep and then that day exposure to sun(of shopping)
2. coffee smell
3. time ki bojanam lekapovatam

To avoid:

1. proper sleep and time ki bojanam and fruits
2. if by any chance night out chesthe we may sleep max 4 hours from 6 to 10 ala. inka aa day antha gandaragolam ee, so inka bayataki vellanu.
3. I wont go out after lunch for shopping.

Vachaka:

upstairs ki vellipoyi sounds vinapadakunda room lock chesukoni dark lo padukovatame. before that will drink water so that I get vomit and appudu konchem prasantham ga untadi.

Naaku normal ga 2 days to one week. First day too much pain, nausea. Light choosina, sounds vinna noppi peragadam and irritation. Deffenet ga vomit avuthundi or chesukovali. adi ayentha varaku medicine work kadu, okasari aa pani ayyaka medicine vesukoni dark room lo padukunte nemmadia thagguthundi, next day ki lingering pain and tiredness untundi. konni sarlu whole week light headache morning untundi, nemmadiga thagguthundi, malli next day same.

Prevension ante trigger telusukovadame, naaku exposure to sun, late ga (mid night datina taruvata) padukovadam, stress ki undedi but main trigger weight anukunta. Some health issues valla few years chala over weight ayya, aa time lo evey week vachedi. 4 years ago weight thaggi BMI level ki vachi maintain avuthundi. Appati nundi vella meeda lekka pette anni sarlu vachindi anthe. 4 years nundi life prasantham ga undi.
Nuvve unna kannulatho mare vanka choodanani reppa venuka ninne ella kaalam dhachani...

Hydration , keeping sugar levels up , getting enough restful sleep every night, getting up and moving every so often ( past the peak of headaches) if nothing else this prevents tension headaches from piling on to the trauma :-)

Yes, I haven't done that.. partly due to being impatient. I got similar feedback from other DB'ers that breathing exercises helped.

Idivaraku cheppinattu gurtu - but have you tried practicing pranayama? -anuloma viloma 15 -20 mins morning and evening made a huge difference in intensity for me ...

Identify ur triggers and try to avoid it
Few triggers :
Wheat or gluten products
Wine,extensive physical activity,stress,nuts all types.
For me one more trigger laptop screen light after started using privacy screen it helped me
Staying late nights and not having proper sleep.
Too much intake of liquor
Fan of chiru(movies)and pavan

Took a step back in career. Shifted from management to technical. Said no to lead positions and opted for IC instead. Changed my job to something I really like doing. (Technology wise) and finally, giving more importance to personal life. Shunned milk 90%. Increased alcohol intake by 250% (This is the correct medicine IMO!)

Been a Migraine baaadhithudu since 1989. However as you rightly said, it differs from person to person. For me, it is a two day affair. First day, it starts with loss of vision. That stage continues for an hour or so. Then an unbearable headache kicks in - a few hours. Extreme sensitivity to light. Nausea. So essentially have to sleep in a dark room and be in an almost vegetative state. Can't think, can't recollect faces etc. That eats up the whole day.

Day 2 is generally mild headache, drowsiness, weakness etc.

Day 3 is back to normal.

My triggers are:

1. Too much exposure to sun
2. Milk and dairy products
3. Stress

Doctors finally told me it is 90% due to stress. Konni lifestyle/career changes cheskomani salahaa icchaaru. Avi paatisthe ippudu once in a year ki vacchindhi - from twice in a month.

Better stay of them
Completely quit Smoking, Cool Drinks....

Coming to your question on postdrome affects :
To minimize them take medication for your migraine ... I take rizatriptan as soon as I see a symptom (Aura).

I am more focussed on recovery aftermath.. 1 day migraine is bearable. 2-3 weeks of discomfort after episode is also affecting antunna

tylenol with caffeine idi kaka pothe/ ibuprofein based Motrin etc ..hot head shower bath if needed
but yeah its chronic then just cope with it
