Out of sheer ignorance i am asking - for folks in the US, even at USD75 per hour billing, one can make - 75 * 8 (hours)*240 (days) (assuming many are contractors). That is 144 K per year. If both husband and wife are working, the earning of a family is close to $300 K. Assuming a family income of $300 K, take out 40% for taxes (very aggressive, but let's be conservative). That means take home for each family is $180 K per year. Schools are free, libraries are free, school buses are free. Home mortgage ki oka 6 K per month. Other expenses around 2 K per month. So net - net, one can save close to 80 K per year. If no mortage, savings can be immense. Within 5-6 years, one can easily save $0.5 Mn. Am i missing something. | ||
