We did a 2.5 day visit to NYC - trip was as follows. We took a place in Uptown Manhattan, in Harlem. The place has a seedy past but has been gentrified and is now quite clean Day 1 - 0.5 day - New York Public Library, Grand Central, Bryant Park, Times Square - all walking after taking the subway from Harlem Day 2 - Staten Island Ferry, Liberty Island, Batter Park, Freedom Tower, High Line - the first 4 are walking distance from South Ferry Terminal, the last needs a short metro ride. No one has recommended High Line here, but it is beautiful walk that is a great example of urban generation. Day 3 - Brooklyn Bridge (walked from Brooklyn to Manhattan), shopping near Central Park and Central Park (you would need atleast half a day for CP) Note on Metro - take only one subway card, you can swipe for your whole family. Unlike other cities, ignore colour codes, go by Numbers and Alphabets. I did not do any musuems or galleries as i did those in Washington where everything is free. | ||

Book hotel in NYC.better to take it near any station. Used uber, local taxi & train. Uber ithey raavatanikey driver raavataanikey 15 mins pattedi.. Train best.. uber/ taxis mottam eppudu traffuc jams . 2 miles ki 20 mins padtadi. train lo 5 mins. Google maps transit info super untadi. all attractions ki daggarlo station untadi. stroller teesuko but portable ,foldable type. Be prepared to walk 7-8 miles in a day ( with your schedule). You want to enjoy NYC? Go inside the buildings. Don't stand outside and take their photos. Spend money and go to restaurants, shows etc. NYC lives there. Not in the concrete walls and asphalt pavements. Stay in NYC hotel and ready to spend money. Then you will have fun. Otherwise, its donkey like walking miles and miles in NYC and you will get tired. | ||

since u have a 3 1/2 yr old kid I would recommend u to visit only the most important places... prathidi avasaram ledu... - The rock/Empire State/Freedom Tower.. pick one of them to see the NYC skyline... Empire state gives u both uptown and downtown views... Freedom tower kuda super ani wife tolded but nen soodaledu... - U can book tickets in advance for Liberty statue to avoid any lines.. book chesko idi... - Wall Street/NYSC - Times Square (idi night compulsory) - Central park - 9/11 memorial - 5th ave la high end stores (just walking cheste kick a verabba) - Brooklyn bridge (walk untadi) - Circle Line Landmark Cruise (will show NYC from water - NJ Boulevard East (Weehawken) - this is on NJ side.. u will see the NYC from NJ amazing views annattu inka madam tussads, ripleys believe it or not, nat geo museum etc etc its up to you.. look for airbnb near jersey city/journal sq/exchange place... secacus, rutherford kuda not bad. ... u have path train from there Jersey City to NYC (20 mins max)... with in NYC u can take a cab or uber... Subway unlimited pass laantidi em ledu so u have to pay for each trip... i would recommend cab since it makes ur life easy.... also u dnt need car seat for kids in NYC.. u can just get in to the cab... I would highly recommend that u finish Empire State or Freedom tower when wait time is less.. as the day progresses lines chaala perugutayi... u have speed pass or something but adi expensive...
