Forget about the credit card stuff speakerji is talking about...other than that rest of things seem to be fine, please add if anything else: In USA: 1. Create a Power Of Attorney and give it to someone here 2. Liquidate your money in 401k's, 529's, HSA etc 3. Cancel your credit cards, bank accounts, lockers 4. Cancel all your monthly automatic payments - Utilities, cell phones, netflix, gym etc etc 5. Check for passport expiry dates and OCI card if applicable 6. Sell Home, close mortgage 7. Sell Car, Furniture 8. If possible take your medical records from the doctor for the time you have been here 9. Pack stuff, book a container to India if shipping something big In INDIA: 1. School admission for your kids 2. Job 3. House/Apartment 4. Establish Drivers License, Aadhar, Bank Accounts 5. Setup utilities - gas connection, cable etc.. | ||

Have secondary debit/credit/store cards on wife's name also apply for as many all store credit cards on same day if you plan to open...n ask for max limit... inc wife's name also on any assets... write a POA to a close friend/relative you can trust..to sell them incase... if in case u have to go 2 India for stamping n is rejected, these secondary cards will be handy to draw cash as much possible... atleast this much can be done for your safeside...
