Germany is inherently a very christian nation, but is quite accepting of other religions. that is God is inherent part of their constitution and education system. It is a secular nation, but one of my colleagues and his friends have told me a strange thing. Most Public universities have religious heads as chairs, that is with in a university there would be catholic chair, islamic chair, jewish chair, protestant chair and so on who guide religious education. When you have such a system, every now and then we could expect such statements from politicians. i do not have first hand information, this is based on what i have gathered from few of the discussions i had with germans. | ||
